Early June Brides! What are your plans?!

Marie, on March 31, 2020 at 2:40 PM Posted in Illinois Planning 0 7

My wedding is June 6th in the outer Chicago suburbs. My fiance and I are seriously considering postponing our wedding to the end of August, especially since a lot of our guests are traveling. Virginia, DC, and Maryland were just put under a stay at home order until June 10th and I feel like it's only a matter of time until more states extend their stay at home orders. What are other early June brides doing at this point?? I feel like it's still early to make a decision but it's also so close.

I was june 13th and we postponed until august 21st while there were still dates available. sadly we had to loose some deposits and vendors but our venue is run by the governor so it wasn't looking good!

I think now is the time to consider postponing. So sorry you have to go through this! But now may be a good time to reach out your guests to see if they would even consider coming because I’m sure you wouldn’t only want half of them to show up. Talk to your vendors about postponing, in my experience a lot of them have been very helpful and understanding

My sisters wedding is June 13th. We have already contacted vendors with potential new dates either September or October. We are just waiting to hear back from the venue. It’s an elks lodge so they are closed right now so it’s hard to get in touch with anyone there. Hopefully the date we want is still open. The end of April is when we are making our final decision.

My date was June 6th. We decided the best thing to do for us right now is to postpone the reception to a later date(August or September) and get married on June 6th or sooner (if the courthouse is opened to get the license). We would just do a private ceremony with just immediate family only. We decided that because most of my family is traveling from out of state to come. There is a lot of older people. We are so grateful our photographer said he would be able to do a split the time between the private ceremony and reception. We had to cancel my bridal shower twice.

My wedding was June 6 but we are postponing until August. We made the decision this morning. With the new restrictions until June 10, I felt it was better to make a decision now.

Mine is June 6th as well. So far we are keeping it that date since we have been engaged for 3 years and have had that date set for so long. Hopefully having another month in quarantine will help and things will start opening up in May!

My wedding is June 6th. I just emailed my vendors to see if they were available June 12, 2021. I think we are definitely going to postpone. Lots of people traveling and I don’t want the wedding to have an accidental carona theme
