Early dinner???

Sakina, on January 31, 2020 at 9:54 AM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 19
My ceremony is at 3:00 pm and should only take no more than an hour,if that...Do you all think going straight to the restaurant for dinner between 4 and 5 is too early? I'm having a small ceremony and just planning on going to dinner afterwards. I'm not sure if I should push dinner to be a little later or not!!!

No. I think it's fine. For me I'd like to keep the events as close in time as possible. Typically ppl hate breaks in between ceremony and reception or dinner unless they're occupied some other way, and it seems like ya guests may just go home and possibly not come back just for a meal. Keep it together.

No, it's fine. We had a 2pm ceremony with our reception starting at 4pm for dinner. Actually it was more like a late lunch/ high tea type of thing. Just know that around 9pm you're probably going to want a snack lol.

Are you going to take pictures after the ceremony, and you could have a cocktail hour during that time?

I do think 4p is kind of early. but if you had some appetizers and then dinner started at 5p that would be fine

I was planning on taking pictures before. I'm still open to doing it afterwards though. I'm not sure if it's better to take pictures before or after the ceremony. Still haven't decided yet.

Our ceremony is at 12:30 and our dinner starts at 3! There is lots of time between because I refuse to feel rushed. I want time with my new husband and an opportunity to soak it all in/ change my clothes. That way, our guests can get back to their rooms and change, have a cocktail or two and meet up refreshed and ready to celebrate!

That’s kind of early for dinner. I’d probably schedule a cocktail “hour” in there for at least 30-45 minutes to allow for you to take extra photos and to push dinner a little closer to actual dinner time.

That's what we're doing as well but we're taking photos after and a cocktail hour at the restaurant. Then we will arrive and eat.
