Early church ceremony

Kristen, on May 14, 2020 at 8:52 PM Posted in Planning 0 3
So my fiancé and I had a plan to have a church wedding ceremony on a Thursday with only parents, grandparents and bridal party. Then we are having our wedding reception and a second ceremony at the venue itself on the next day, Friday. Recently, I received an engagement card from my grandma, whom I am very close with. She’s lived with us my entire life until both her and my parents moved south about 10 years ago. I called her to thank her for the gift and she said she sent it because you never know and she didn’t want to miss giving us a wedding gift. This really has made me feel sadder about the normal distance I already feel sad about with my family. Our wedding date is 1/7/2022 and we are now discussing on doing the church ceremony as soon as possible (less than a year from now hopefully) for her since that’s what she cares about most. Is this weird? Is it ok to have the church ceremony and then another ceremony and reception maybe more than a year later?

At this rate with everything going on, spend time with the ones you love and let them be able to see you get married

It’s perfectly ok! Lots of couples are doing micro weddings now and having their bigger celebrations later this year and next year.
