e Invites for Save The Dates?

Casey, on April 18, 2020 at 6:37 AM Posted in Planning 0 7
Would E Invites be a good idea for Save the Dates? I know I would have to print and mail out some for my older guests. I would start with just save the dates, than maybe do the same for our invites. Just need some opinions.

Save the dates aren’t a necessity, so I suppose digital save the dates would be fine. If you’re having a formal or destination wedding I would find digital to be too casual.

Thank you for your input. Smiley smile We are having an out of town wedding in a very touristy area at high peak season, summer. So my thought of Save the Dates where to inform the guests where the wedding was being held. This would give them enough time to reserve hotel accommodations before they were all booked up in the small little town of Sister Bay, WI.

I don’t see a problem with the online save the dates as long as you are sure to reach out to those who may not be online. You just want to ensure no one gets left out on accident. Good luck!

I feel like if you’re expecting guests to spend time and money to travel for your wedding, you can splurge on $50 or so worth of save the dates.

    AGREED.

I would send out physical STD's if I was having a destination wedding of any kind but especially if it's a touristy area where hotel's might be expensive/hard to come by during your wedding. I would honestly secure a few hotel blocks now and give guests the option to go ahead and book in the block on your wedding website.

E-Invites are really impractical for any large events in my opinion. I would only use them for birthday parties, small social gathering or if I was having a very small, home based wedding.

Instead of doing Save the dates you can just send your invitations out early. That’s what we were planning on doing. I personally find save the dates to be a waste of paper and money and since it’s a destination wedding it’s acceptable to send invitations out up to 8 months early.

We did our save the dates electronically and it was so easy! Check out withjoy.com. We recently postponed our wedding and it was so easy to resend out our save the dates. We are using that site to send our invites as well. Their RSVP tracking is awesome. You can set up an entire wedding website as well. I've found doing it electronically saves a lot of time and is more environmentally friendly. Also the website is free to use!
