Dyeing my dress

Kelley, on June 9, 2022 at 10:55 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 3
So i am just getting started on the planning and havent gone yet to get the dress but i want to tie dye the bottom of my dress. I was wondering, what fabrics are best for dyeing, and what dyes.

Thank you!

Hi Kelley! I'd definitely do some research but in general 100% cotton is best for tie dye, but silk and wool should also take the dye well. Acrylic and polyester are the most difficult to dye!

Dying fabric is very risky. You can dye cotton with no problems but other fabrics, especially those for special occasions, don’t dye easily if at all and on the rare occasions when they do, they are very splotchy. If you want a colored dress you are better off getting it custom made from the start.
