dw babysitters

Megan, on January 20, 2021 at 5:30 PM Posted in Planning 0 6

Disclaimer: We are ****% going to have a kid friendly ceremony and reception. However with it being a DW, we'd love to take our guests out for an adult only night on the town at least once. We would be covering the costs for this and for a sitter...

However where does one FIND a sitter for a DW? The kids will range from 8-13 and it's just a few too many kids and a bit too young for me to be ok with them being left alone. I have 3 siblings who are adults but will be under 21. I am considering asking them, but I'm sure in paradise they rather find something to do vs babysit and I am prepared for a no. Based on the group we are inviting, I don't think any will volunteer to stay behind while everyone else goes out either.

Are there websites to find local sitters? Fly out our tried and true sitter and suck up the cost of another guest? HELP Smiley xd

Try Yelp for your area or do a search for 'eventsitters" on Instagram

I would probably ask the siblings under 21 first. It’s only a few hours, and they may appreciate the extra money to spend on vacation. If they are not interested, then I would ask your regular sitter. I don’t know about other people, but I would never feel comfortable leave my child with a complete stranger in a foreign place.

Most kids do not want to be stuck with babysitting duty when they can be eating and dancing.

It's fine to research local babysitters so you have suggestions if any guests ask, but most parents (in my experience) aren't willing to use babysitters that they don't already know. I would just let your guests handle any childcare arrangements on their own.

I would definitely ask those under 21 to watch the kids first and maybe offer to pay them. Some parents might not be comfortable leaving their children with strangers.

Thanks everyone! This would be the night after the wedding- no one would be excluded from the wedding or asked to stay in a hotel vs partying with us THAT night.

I asked my will-be 20 year old sisters and they told me as long as there isn't an under 21 club-- they're coming in from a super small town so taking advantage of big city perks while they can!
