Dumb question

Nicole, on July 25, 2019 at 11:57 AM Posted in Planning 0 11
So I use a period app that is always on time with my periods. I'm bummed I'm going to be on my period on my wedding and honeymoon. Im not on birth control cause my tubes are tied. What to do?

You could check out Thinx period panties for extra protection on the wedding day or menstrual discs that would allow for intercourse.

I definitely recommend period panties (I use Modibodi). I've been using them for a few months now and have yet to have any leaks. I've used the heavy day ones and light day ones and both work great. I plan on getting a nude color pair for my wedding day since my period is scheduled to be starting around then.

You could try a menstrual cup paired with period panties!

Thinx for back up. They're also really comfortable!

You could also talk to your OBGYN to see what your options are! Even though your tubes are tied, birth control or other things may be able to push back your period!

I'm totally in the same boat. Not on BC and if I stay on track, my first day of my cycle will be on my wedding day. I know it could change since we're a little ways away but I'm stressed about it!

You should still be able to get on BC if your tubes are tied. I realized I was going to be on my period during our wedding and honeymoon. I got on seasonique (no period for 3 months) it worked great!

I had my period on my wedding day and again on my honeymoon and it wasn’t a big deal. I wore a tampon and liner and everything was fine. Don’t worry too much! It’s not as bad as you think it’ll be, just inconvenient.

I second this! This is totally something that you can talk to your doctor about. Smiley smile

My FH had a vasectomy years before we met so I don't need BC but my doc put me on it so I can skip my period, cause it is due the day before the wedding. I will go off it after the honeymoon.

If you decide to do the birth control method as PP mentioned.. just be really really sure. Birth control can really mess up your body because of hormones. You might get unwanted side affects that you don't want on your wedding day. Just make sure you really do your research before deciding. Otherwise, Caytlyn's suggestion of a disc is a good idea. If you use it for a few months before the wedding you'll get comfortable with it.
