If your planning to get marry during this Corona Virus. How are you handling things? We reschedule our wedding from May to July. We have limited our guest list to just bridal party and our parents. However, our other guest may still want to get us some thing or do money. Should we set up a go fund me account to receive monetary gifts. I am not sure how to handle this.

There’s nothing to “word,” you shouldn’t be mentioning gifts in the first place.

But gifts are something people do give so what is wrong with just asking or wondering how it can be done for people in the times we’re living in?

I would set up a registry or make a fund account on a wedding website but ppl will write checks and mail to you because I know a lot of older people don’t feel comfortable giving online

Yes. I just decided to keep the statement very simple. They still have initial invite with our registry info.

    But thanks

I just wanted to know, since we are still planning to wedd. What if people may want to send monetary gifts verses an actual one. Just wondered how to let them know what to do. I will keep our comment the same and just allow people to do whatever lays on their heart..

If you have sent out anything wedding related, chances are they have your address. If someone is inclined to give a monetary gift, they can send a check or even Venmo you cash without being asked/told directly.

No. Not at all. If they wish to give you monetary gifts they will do so. Honestly this may be too blunt but it would be in poor taste. We also moved our 5/24 wedding to July (now 7/25). It's about 80 people, and we may well end up with only 50-60. Best of luck with your upcoming nuptials!

You could create a Honeyfund account. Or I read here Zola allows guests to simply gift you cash.

Definitely not. Don't say anything. If people want to give you monetary gifts they will mail a check!

I don’t think you should do a go fund me per say but if there are people who are reaching out to you asking what can they give monetary if you don’t have one set up a cash app for those who want to give a monetary gift.

Regardless, that means they have your address, so they know where to send the check if they want to give you a monetary gift.

Absolutely not. Go Fund Me accounts are emergency funds for people in dire situations. You can set up a registry, a honeymoon fund, or set up nothing and people will give you checks and gift cards. But a Go Fund Me is not acceptable.

I'd let people offer rather than making a Go Fund Me.
