Hi guys! Who all had a dry wedding and how did you let guests know on the invitation? I am not sure how to tastefully let others know there will be no alcohol! Thanks!

How did you end up handling this? I also want to have a dry wedding (for religious purposes) and there are some people from my extended family who may leave in order to sneak some in (almost happened at my sister’s dry wedding).

If someone leaves early or sneaks in alcohol, they don’t respect or care about you. If you know they will create problems, don’t invite them. There is no circumstance where a dry wedding needs to be announced on the invitation in any capacity. If the guests do not or cannot respect the couple’s choice, they should decline the invitation and stay home.

We have attended many weddings that were dry, mostly due to religious beliefs and others did not drink so it didn’t make sense to serve alcohol. No one was bothered by it and they didn’t leave early or sneak alcohol in. They had just as much fun as those who did serve alcohol.
