Drugstore bridal makeup: suggestions?

Stefanie, on February 13, 2020 at 11:43 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 1 7
Hi ladies!

I am doing my own makeup for my wedding day. I was wondering what drugstore foundations, concealer, translucent powders, blush, and highlighters are the best? I have sensitive combination skin. I normally don't wear a lot of makeup but when I do it tends to be very classic.

Also: what about lipsticks? People suggest lipstains but they always make my lips feel so dry and gross.

Not a drugstore brand, but I highly recommend Mary Kay. I have really sensitive skin and eyes and they’re the only products that don’t make me break out or get eye infections lol

Hi Stefanie! Here is a link to a YouTube video that I watched a while back and just fell in love with the look. I plan on using this as my bridal makeup since I’m doing my own. Almost everything she uses is drugstore and it looks amazing! Hope this helps ❤️

I used a Kylie Lipkit on our wedding day, I was super happy with it. Not a drugstore brand but they are at Ulta and they do go on sale if you sign up for their emails. It didn't come off on my teeth at all or onto my husband which I appreciated, and it didn't dry out my lips.

I plan on doing my own makeup too. I don’t have makeup recommendations for your skin type, because I have normal to dry skin. But, what I’ve been doing is looking up “drugstore bridal makeup tutorials” on YouTube. If you press the down arrow - they list all of the makeup they used for the tutorial.

I'm with you on the lip stains...I really don't like how they make my lips feel. I've always had good luck with Nyx for lipstick.

I would recommend revlon colorstay foundation- good coverage and long lasting. I also think you can definitely get away with lipstick even if you’re worried about staying power; my trick is to apply lip pencil, then one layer of lipstick, blot, brush on translucent powder over the tissue, and then apply another layer of lipstick!

Loreal Infallible Matte foundation is my go to drugstore foundation. It's medium coverage and looks very natural. I tend to get oily later on in the day, but with this foundation you can't tell. For translucent powder, I use Airspun loose face powder and it looks great. For lips, I would use nyx products. Wet n Wild has great highlighters. As for concealer, the drugstore one I use is Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circles Treatment Concealer. I'm a huge makeup fan, I watch a ton of makeup gurus on youtube. If you have time, you could do more research and watch reviews on there.
