Drop heart guestbook

Carla, on December 3, 2017 at 11:41 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 13

We are planning on doing a drop heart guestbook, however I am not sure how big we will need. Do families usually sign as one? We have a lot of families rather than individual people. For example, we are ordering 120 invitations, but our total guest list is just over 200.

It really depends. Some couples and families signed our canvas tree together on one leaf, and some couples and families signed individual leaves. Some of the kids that attended our wedding were old enough to want to sign their own leaf separate from mom and dad, and other kids weren't. When I ordered our tree, I ordered one large enough for every guest who had RSVP'd yes to have their own individual leaf, including the kids. That way we were good if people did sign individual leaves.

My sister did this for her wedding and the frame they got was wayyyy too big- it kind of ruined the great idea!?

I'm not sure of exact dimensions, but from my experience not everyone signs the guest book- and if you have lots of families it may be even less- I'd say go smaller than you think you'd need! Good luck!

@Keri that's exactly what i'm scared of, we also have a few guests that we are 90% sure will not be able to attend.

@Ashley, we haven't found the exact one we want yet, but we will probably get it from etsy

@Bluehen, so you ordered your canvas after you had your RSVPs? Was there any problem getting it in time? I was considering waiting for at least most of our RSVPs to order it, but that I have that thought in the back of my mind about something going wrong with shipping ect.

Carla - what is the time frame the Etsy shop you're looking at gives for how long it takes to receive it after you place the order? I'd advise finding someplace to order your drop heart frame from that has a quick enough turnaround time so you can wait to order after you have all of your RSVPs. This is what we did with our canvas.

I have no idea what a drop heart guest book is, but I can tell you that couples/families entering any event with a guest book and a pen greeting them will typically sign their names on one line. Individual signatures are not necessary.

Carla - we we're typing at the same time. No, we didn't have any issues getting our canvas on time. It came within a week of ordering.

I did the drop heart guestbook. I think I used a 16x20 ikea frame for it. I was worried about size and filling it in but I added the picture with the saying in the back to fill in the space so that I would be fine if it didn't fill up and I can rearrange and stick it on permanently after if I felt like it. I had about 100 guests. Most were family but I found that many wanted to sign their own.

My son's friend did this. The heart tokens were rather small and they had a regular sharpie marker. My FH and I had to sign one each do this. If the heart had been large enough or a finer point marker we would have done one. Also some people like to leave congratulatory messages, so that's something to consider as well.

I bought one with 1.5" hearts and skinny pens so people could write several words on them. I bought enough hearts for every person that RSVPed. I asked for each

Person to sign but some families signed as one. So I have some empty space. I'm taking the leftover hearts and writing memories from the wedding on them to fill the space. Like a phrase the officiant said, words from songs that were sung, the name of the song I walked down the aisle to, stuff like that.

We got one and we had a bunch of hearts leftover, a lot of families just signed one. It was nice to have a few extras because my husband's goofy friends signed a few funny ones which we love but we still had too many. I would order less than 1 per person
