Driving myself crazy

Toni, on June 5, 2019 at 4:02 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 10
I’m seriously going insane with obsessing over how to set up my brunch/breakfast food table 😩 I’m not having a caterer (Shame on me ya I know) but I’m trying to find a way to make sure my table doesn’t look tacky and all my colors are coordinated. (For anyone interested-I’m doing mimosas, other nonalcoholic beverage, donuts, cake, fruit and a biscuit bar)
i don’t feel like I’ll ever stop obsessing until I see it laid out before me 🤷🏻‍♀️

Have you looked at Pinterest? Levels and different plates looks best, in my opinion. You can get these kind of serving things on Amazon or the Dollar Store.

Pinterest is super helpful and I have a good idea I just can’t seem to stick with it. I think I need to step away from this piece of planning and focus on a different one for a bit. Maybe when I come back I won’t be so boggled 😅

I totally feel ya! i have a candy buffet and drinks table i have to design myself and when i lay it out as is, it's sort of plain to me.

definitely look around on google or pinterest for some doable and easy ideas.

one simple thing i decided to do was add bunting banners to the tables

I would step away and come back. I was having a hard time figuring out how I (or you know we) wanted things decorated & laid out). I took a step back, and when we were talking to the florist I realized that I really wanted a lot of greenery, wild flowers, and a burlap around the flowers. That started everything - from there on, I (hmm we) went with rustic - and somehow everything is together in my head.

I actually stay away from Pinterest - I don't want to waffle on my decision Smiley smile

Good idea! Backing away is much needed right now 😅 I think when I order things and I lay it out I’ll feel better but for now I’ll put my brain power into another project

What are your colors? Can you share some pics that you like? Or the serving dishes you plan on using?

My colors are gold, grey, burgundy with touches of black and greenery. First picture is a collage I made of everything that will be put on the food table (basket bin for biscuits w/ burgundy cheesecloth, little square bowls are for biscuit condiments, sorted tray for fruit, etc-on white tablecloths) second picture is an example biscuit bar, third is the cake we want, fourth is a fruit tray we like minus the granola.

Awesome! I think it will look great.

White tablecloths will look nice. I love the burgundy cheesecloth! Is it for the biscuit bin or all the tables? A sparkly runner would look really pretty.

How many tables? I'd do your drinks on one, food on another, and dessert on yet another. Or something like that...

We have 2 8’ banquet tables and 1 30” round bistro table. We were going to put drinks on the first table and food on the second, cake on the small bistro table. The cheesecloth will be in the biscuit bins. And thank you!! I appreciate that feedback Smiley smile definitely soothes me!
