Dresses

I'm torn between two dresse for my bridesmaids one is 130 and the other is 150. The shoes are 20 dollars. Is 180 or 150 for everything to much to ask them to oay for their attire?

It depends, what is their budget?

I am in a friends wedding in April and I spent $180 on just the dress. I don’t think your prices are bad!!

My bridesmaids dresses were $150, which I think is pretty typical. I let my girls choose their own shoes, but $20 is really inexpensive

So long as they can afford it, then it’s ok. It is not a hugely high total for a bridesmaids dress and shoes.

I would ask your girls what they think. If the dresses are long maybe they could all wear shoes they already own.

Anything $200 or less is pretty typical. Unless your maids are on a tight budget you should be good!

If you're truly torn between the two, and they've all agreed to the price, I'd choose the less expensive dress. They'll likely still have some alterations cost, etc., so I think it's better to aim low and allow a little more wiggle room in their total budget. I agree with pp about the shoes -- if the dresses are long, their shoes will not show. Daughter asked her BMs to wear whatever closed-toe nude shoes they wanted. Most already had shoes that would work -- some chose flats, others heels. While $20 shoes are not expensive, they also might not be very comfortable for some people. It's great that you're trying to be so considerate!

I spoke with my girls and they all told me they were comfortable with paying up to 230for shoes and dress but every wedding party is different. I spoke to everyone independently to make sure that no one felt embarrassed to give me an amount.
