Dresses with a textured/dimensional skirt?

Rachel, on July 15, 2020 at 10:09 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 21
Hi, Ladies!

What are your thoughts on dresses with dimension or texture? There are two brand new Hayley Paige gowns (Max and Banksy) that I am absolutely in LOVE with... I originally pegged Lazaro’s “Rita” gown as being my favorite textured skirt gown and was in the running for being “the dress” for a while... but these are just stunning! What do you think? The Max is first, then Banksy second! 😍Dresses with a textured/dimensional skirt? 1

Omg, I SO agree. I’m thinking ballgowns are my calling. I keep looking at mermaids and I’ll definitely try a couple on, but I always get jealous when I see a bride in a ballgown! To me, it’s the most iconic silhouette! And they have some sentimental value to me as well ☺️💗

Have you seen the pandemic special of Say Yes to the Dress?? They feature Banksy on it! It’s even more beautiful on a “real person”

YES! That’s where I first saw it on someone, I loved it! The Loretta dress that she picked was pretty, too, but I like both of these because they have some unique qualities to them!

I liked the Loretta on her too! It was just a bit plain for my tastes (if a huge ballgown can be plain lol)

Exactly! To be honest, up to this point, I was looking at dresses on the more “plain” side because I have tattoos and I thought it would be a bit “much” to have a dress with some detailing while showing my tattoos. But I’ve never had conventional style anyways, so I might just have to consider a dress like one of these! Whenever I see a dress that I’ve never really “seen” before, I immediately take a liking to it!

I have a Hayley Paige dress with a similar texture bottom like that. Alterations did cost me a bit more than expected even to just hem because of all the individual layers of fabric. So maybe keep that in mind when you budget alterations so you don’t get sticker shock like I did.

I feel you on this! I have full sleeve tattoos. My 1st inclination was to try very simple things, because I knew my tats would be very large, colorful “accessories”, and didn’t want to look too busy. But after trying some on, I knew they just weren’t for me. I ended up getting a pretty flashy “extra” dress- I just knew it was “the one” as soon as I put it on! Definitely follow your heart & your gut!!

Omg! Thank you so much for understanding! I don’t know a lot of brides/friends with as much ink as me so it’s hard to find someone who can relate to what I’m feeling or thinking. I just can’t help myself, my style is so eclectic, I want my dress to reflect that! 😊

I went in to try on dresses and really loved the tiered skirt look. I tried on a few different dresses before my tiered skirt one and they all paled in comparison. I'm a big fan haha. Dresses with a textured/dimensional skirt? 10

I love both of these, but especially the 1st! Big textured skirts are so fun. I had a two-piece and loved my layered skirt:

Lady I love your taste! Definitely go with a textured skirt! I love this even more than your dream dress tbh. It’ll be so dramatic and beautiful!

I have a Hayley Paige and like someone mentioned before, alterations add up because of all her layers 😂 BUT her dresses make you feel like the most beautiful bride!

Thanks so much!!! I just love dresses that are unique that people haven’t seen before. I guarantee that if I do end up with this dress, my family and friends will see it and go, “Yep, that’s her!” Plus, not to get sentimental or anything, but my guy calls me Princess sometimes so going with a “princess” ballgown would have a lot of meaning to it! 😭😭😭
