Dressafford

Erica, on January 24, 2019 at 5:48 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 1 31
I really can't spend more than $200 on a wedding dress and I've seen dressafford pop up frequently. Does anyone have any photos of the quality? Is it a legit website?

I haven’t heard much about that website. I do recommend you look at white dresses from department stores (Nordstrom, Macy’s, JC Penny’s, etc.) Ive seen a few brides get their wedding dress from those stores, plus you can wear it more than once.

    Not sure about that.
Have you looked into wedding consignment shops and the like?

I’ve never heard of it but just taking a quick glance at their website I can tell you those pictures are stolen images of real designer dresses. So I’m guessing it’s like most of the Asian knockoff sites where someone rips off a design and tries to recreate it. It’s up to you if you can afford to have the dress be something different than you envisioned.

This is one of those "dress knock-off" sites where the designs are stolen from other designers. That said, the quality can still be good and fit well. A lot of reviews suggest that. But I wouldn't want to put all my plans on a dress from there in case it doesn't work out. I also wouldn't want to use them out of principle (I don't like plagarized images/designs).

I have, but I have had very bad luck so far. I don't really want to buy online, but with my budget it seems like it would be the best bet.

If you dont mind shopping second hand you can definitely get a dress in that budget. Checkout Poshmark, Ebay, Facebook Marketplace, and Oncewed.

Check SuLi store on Ali Express. Beautiful dresses tailor made to your measurements. I got mine for under 200 and from time of ordering to my door it was a month total. They do their own dresses and their own designs so it's not a knock off site. They even did a bustle for free. Quality craftsmanship and excellent communication.

I don’t know anything about those websites, but I don’t want to spend too much on a dress either. I’d definitely want to try it on before buying it, though. My solution is local bridal charities- I found a few organizations that sell second hand dresses that are 5 years or newer. (so still in trend!) These are great organizations that are donating to causes that I am super excited to support. I’ve been keeping an eye on them for a while, and there’s an event that I plan on attending where all the dresses are $150 for the day. And they have BEAUTIFUL dresses! So if you are willing to buy second hand, something like that might be a good option. 🙂

Azazie has quite a few beautiful wedding dresses under $200. You can pay a small amount ($10-25) to try on a sample dress at home. They occasionally have sample sales too. I was thinking about getting some samples from them before j found my dress at a bridal shop. I’ll be using them for bridesmaid dresses though.

I also found a couple on FB marketplace that didn’t end up working for me, but the sellers did let me try them on. Depends on if you feel comfortable with that sort of online exchange with strangers though. I always brought my FH with me to be safe.

My dress from David’s Bridal was $219 + tax and other shenanigans I bought it came out to $260. They have the $99 clearance section too! And I am in love with my dress!

I've never heard of them. Have you looked at David's Bridal? I had originally ordered 2 dresses, 1 from June's Bridal and 1 from ASOS. I returned the ASOS one because I liked the other 1 better but decided to go to David's Bridal and check them out since the other one would need a lot of alterations (im short and needed like 2 feet taken off the bottom) and found an amazing dress that fit perfectly! No alterations needed for $99
