Hello everybody, I am shopping for a dress and like to hear from people that bought their dresses online (like stillwhite), how was your experience, did you receive what were advertised? I visited couple of shops but I am not sure I want to spend a lot of money on a dress since we are having a destination wedding

I didn't get my dress from an online shop, however my bridesmaids all ordered their dresses from Azazie and they were exactly as pictured and great quality. I've also heard of a few people I know who ordered their dress from that website (which is how I heard about it for bridesmaids) and they said their gowns were gorgeous! Just make sure to research the places you are ordering from, there are a lot of scams out there, so I'd only recommend going with well-known places.

I ordered 4 dresses, all ridiculously inexpensive and highly detailed, from 3 different online stores. I kept my favorite and returned the other 3. I read reviews to make sure sizing was true to size and colors were represented correctly in the pictures. Pretty good experience all around.

I ordered my dress from Azazie. I used their try-at-home program first. Unfortunately they don’t carry a ton of dresses to try-at-home (or I was incredibly unlucky and none of my dresses were available). I managed to order one I was considering. It came pretty quick and was packaged well. It wasn’t for me but gave me confidence in the product.
I then went ahead and ordered the dress I wanted with my custom measurement. Huge gamble, but it paid off. My dress came and I liked it.
Is it as great as a $2k dress I tried on in a shop? No. But I never considered spending as much on my wedding dress. Also, my fiancé and I started planning our wedding in January (2021) and are getting married in early March of this year. So time wasn’t on my side. My tip is - if they carry try at home, utilise it. And otherwise you could order a standard size and return it (they have a restocking fee if you do it for more than 2 dresses, I think). You can DM me and I can send you photos of the two gowns I tried.

My FMIL bought her dress from JJshouse. The dress was nice but I felt that the material felt cheap. But she had ordered a different one (same website) and the material was a lot better. I think it’s a hit and miss. Azazie offers at home try on for 10$+. I’m not sure JJsHouse or other sites offer at home try on.

I bought my dress from StillWhite and had a perfect experience with it! You can filter dresses down by dress size, and when you look at the individual dress, the seller lists the bust, waist, and hip measurements of the dress and often times whether it has been worn and cleaned or is brand new. I bought a dress that was only tried on but not worn to the wedding by the seller, so it hadnt been altered and had the full length. I may have to get it taken in just a little and it needs to be hemmed, but it came in perfect condition. The seller doesn't get they money (via PayPal) until the shipping tracking says that it was delivered. Most sellers on stillwhite will not refund you if it doesn't fit or change your mind about the dress, so do keep that in mind if you go through Stillwhite.

I'm not a fan of online shopping. I prefer to try things on before buying.

I'm also looking at buying a dress on StillWhite. I've only heard good things about it and you pay via PayPal so easy enough to lodge a complaint if something is wrong with the dress.
