Dress won’t zip all the way! 😫

Steph N., on July 21, 2018 at 2:13 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 13
I bought my dress in October. Tonight I was at my moms and thought I’d try it on again. The wedding is in 84 days.

Not for lack of trying, my mom couldn’t get it zipped the last 1-2 inches. 😫 I called David’s and a manager told me not to worry because the dresses that zip have side panels that allow it to be let out up to an inch. I didn’t think to ask if this meant an inch on each side, or an inch total though.

My first alterations appointment is Aug 19th.

Ughhhh why do I love bread and pasta so much ☹️

Dress won’t zip all the way! 😫 1

I had a similar issue (sample sale, smaller size) but there was enough room to make it work. Smiley smile

Don’t stress yet! And you love bread and pasta because they are delicious. You would be surprised the difference an inch makes.

I’m right there with you! I was really upset at my fitting but like the seamstress says, there is always room to let out. Since that appointment I have tried to limit my carbs (I’m a carb lover too). My next appointment is Tuesday. So nervous but you just have to think positive !

Same problem here. I joined weight weight watchers for 3 months ($13.99 per month) and got a free month for joining with a friend’s link. My wedding is 3 months away. In 9 days I’ve lost 3 pounds. Another 5 to go and hopefully the dress will fit.

Hey dress twin!! I got my dress in January and I haven't tried it on since. I'm pretty sure mines not going to fit either. I'm glad to hear that my seamstress should be able to let it out though. I haven't made my appointment yet but I'm supposed to start alterations in August too. I think it's going to be okay for both of us! Don't be s hard on yourself. Pasta and bread are amazing and the dress can be fixed! I've also thought about the possibility of having to change the back to a corset but I'd prefer if they can just let it out some.

Mine barely does!!! You have time. I’m getting married Sept 29, but my family and I are taking a 10-day Alaskan cruise in August. There’s no way I’m not going to eat good on that cruise. So I plan on deficating that last month to eating only clean foods and exercising a lot. No use in doing it now just to gain it back! Or maybe I’m a procrastinator? 😅 Either way, good lick to us both, and just remember that you have plenty of time so don’t stress!

I thought about the corset back too, but I wasn’t sure how that would look with this dress. I just panicked a little when it wouldn’t zip because I’ve always heard it’s harder to let a dress out than to take one in.

I actually had the same dress for my wedding! I’m sure they’ll be able to let it out enough for it to zip. I was actually worried that mine was too tight after the final fitting and I might have trouble breathing. But it loosened up after I had it on awhile and I was very comfortable.

The dress looks fabulous on you! Don’t stress yet. It’s tough but cutting carbs helps so much (I lost 10 pounds in 3 months). You can doooooo it!
