Dress vs Jeans during engagement pictures

It’s definitely up to you and whatever you feel comfortable with. I wore jeans as one of my outfits because we were in Big Sur and climbing on rocks so it would’ve been more difficult in a dress! But I did do some pictures in a dress as well.

It depends on the vibe you're going for. Where are you getting them taken?

We did an outfit change and I'm wearing jeans in half of our photos and a dress in the other half.

I think either could work for the setting. I personally would wear jeans and a nice blouse, but whatever you feel comfortable in would be perfect!

I wore a dress and don’t regret it but I’m usually more comfortable not in jeans anyway

My photographer asked us to bring a casual outfit and a dressy outfit. So I wore a dress and then changed into jeans.

I only wore jeans and changed my sweater/shirt. We were in a state park and it felt weird to change into anything else? But I think the dress pictures are stunning!

I wore jeans for mine. I planned to change into a dress for half, but it was SO windy that day. In the end I'm glad I went with jeans because some of the poses our photographer put us in would not have worked if I had been wearing a dress.

I only wore a dress and I think it was perfect. I thought about doing a casual outfit with jeans as well but decided not to. I prefer to dress up though for pictures and didn't think it was worth the hassle of trying to pick two different outfits and then try to change in the car at a park. But I don't regret not wearing jeans.

My photographer wants 2-3 outfits, so I’m doing a jeans outfit with a cute blouse, a long dress, and possibly a skirt outfit!

I would say about 75% of our photos were fancier outfits (dress) and then we both changed into jeans for the remainder. I really love the more casual look of some of our jean ones so I'm glad we had that option!

I have engagement photos of us in 2 outfits, one fancy and one more casual (jeans and a sweater). I preferred our casual shoot more, as we were both more comfortable and I just feel like that’s more our style as a couple.

I did 3 outfit changes. A maxi dress (also from Lulu’s... love them!), a shift dress, and jeans! I love the jean photos because those look the most like us and we got some really great candid shots. Probably because we were super comfortable lol.

I think it depends on what you’re most comfortable in, how elegant or casual you want your pictures to be, AND most importantly, what best captures YOU!

I wore a dress during our 2 engagement shoots. And I’m also going to be wearing a dress for our 3rd shoot. I honestly wanted to wear casual attire since I already wore a dress, but I rarely wear jeans and I wasn’t sure if it would look good on me in photos. So I decided with a casual dress. I bought my dress from lulus too!

We are doing more casual, I’m wearing a dress in part then jeans in the rest! Inspo pics below, but FH will be wearing jeans!
