Dress train dilemma

Katie, on October 15, 2019 at 3:52 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 5
Hi - I think I have found my dress, however it has a sweeping train and wanted a bit more drama (more like a chapel train). Have any of you made any alterations to your dress to incorporate a longer train? What did you do? Did it turn out like you had hoped? I have meet with a seamstress and she indicated that I could put more tulle on the back and sides under the dress skirt or create a detachable train (will be hard without the beading on my dress to match) or could just incorporate a longer veil. I love the dress, but just envisioned more drama. I am getting married outdoors, so maybe I should be going with more of the sweeping train. Anyone have any advice or had a similar thought/experience? TIA!

If your dress has to be ordered from the designer (rather than off the rack) the bridal store can contact them and request a different train length! I would do that rather than have it altered after the fact.

Could you have a long veil to cause a longer train appearance?

Yes, I think that is the option I will probably go with.
