Dress too tight

Marcelina, on August 12, 2020 at 10:15 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 16
Hey, fellow brides! I have a situation. I’m 11 days from getting married and my dress is too tight. I can take a full breath in it, it’s just that it feels tight in the stomach area. What do I do?! I’m so nervous.

Talk to the seamstress and see what you can do. Would shapewear make a difference or make it worse? Is it water weight or something else that you could ask a doctor/nurse about?

I would say do a smoothie or juice detox for maybe a few days at least. I know when I do a smoothie cleanse for 3 days my stomach definitely gets flatter. Drink tons of water and limit sodium. Maybe up the cardio?

Is your seamstress available to look at it in the next couple days? They may be able to make some adjustments before your wedding day.

You won’t be able to make a dramatic change in your body,in a healthy way, in 11 days. It would be much better, safer, and honestly less stressful to take it to a seamstress

No carbs-stop the bloat! No booze either.

No carbs or gluten - both bloat me incredibly. Additionally if you haven't tried already try shapewear.

Cut our carbs and sugar, especially alcohol. They make you hold water more. Best of luck

The safest option is to have a seamtress let out your dress slightly. If you choose to go the diet route, please be careful. Crash diets can be very dangerous and can shock your system because of improper nutrients. This could also lead to trouble on your wedding day because you'll likely experience a lot of fatigue. The most weight that is healthy to loose in that amount of time is about 2 pounds depending on calorie intake. You could also look into shape wear if your dress works for that. Also the advice from my seamtress, if the tightness makes it hard to sit and you have table linens, just hike that dress up at dinner.

Does it look tight in the stomach area or just feels tight? If it just feels tight, anything that relieves bloating should help

Do no more than 20 g of carbs per day. Lower your calorie intake and get in at least 45 minutes of walking.

Hi everyone! So I realized I was trying on my dress after I was eating dinner and that it’s very hot here which may have caused the bloating. I tried my dress on this morning with shapewear and it fits much better. I will be watching my diet and cutting out carbs and sugar as safely as possible. Thank you for all your help ❤️
