Dress too casual?

AG, on March 24, 2018 at 10:56 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 28

I posted this on another site a few days ago, so sorry to anyone seeing this post again! Just needed another set of eyes I guess.

Anyway, I'm having a 150 person wedding in a greenhouse. The property is on a farm, but the wedding venue and style is NOT rustic - I would say it will be more like a garden/vineyard wedding. I'm worried this will be too casual? I plan on getting the sheer waist lined, and wearing a long, sheer veil. I dont have any photos of it without the skirt being held up, but after inspecting the photos close up I imagine the lace detail on the skirt is hidden a bit when standing, and shows through with movement.

    I don't think it's too casual. It's really pretty!

I think if you love that dress then you should rock it! I think it's beautiful and will not come off as too causal or anything.

Thank you! The other site I posted on mainly agreed that it wasn't too casual either, but I'm not sure why I'm so worried about it! I guess I keep seeing photos of so many grand dresses on these sites and its worrying me.

It’s a little casual to me. I have a similar dress for my shower but I’m on the east coast which tends to be ‘extra’. Get the veil and see how you feel. What do you think guests will be in?

I think it will be perfect for a wedding with a garden/vineyard feel. It really is a lovely dress.

I think everybody doubts their dress at least once. As long as you love it and it's the style you want, there's nothing wrong with it. Plus, everyone has a different wedding style, so expectations can vary. You'll rock that dress at your wedding, I personally think it's perfect for a garden-type!

I don’t think it’s too casual for a vineyard/garden kind of wedding especially if you are planning on putting a veil with it. If it’s your style and you love it, that’s the most important thing. You should feel beautiful on your wedding day!

I expect women to mostly be in knee length, nice dresses, and I'd guess most men will be in suits with jackets, just based off of knowing them. I have the bridesmaids in floor length blush dresses of their choosing, and the guys will be in navy suits. I don't think anyone will think I don't look bridal, but maybe just be underwhelmed? But I'm thinking maybe when hair/makeup/accessories are done it will be a little more dressed up.

I think it’s casual. Personally, I would wear something a little less casual. I feel like a dress like that could be worn anywhere

I think it's pretty. Causal but not overly casual. Perfect for your theme

It definitely doesn't look too casual for a wedding in my opinion, but it does kind of look rustic to me. Not in a bad way, it's gorgeous.

It’s so pretty! I do think the vibe it gives off is more rustic farmhouse than garden/vineyard though

I think it's a little on the casual side, but I like fancy wedding dresses. You have to do you, and if that makes you feel special and bridal, then rock it!

It's very pretty but isn't bridal to me. It looks casual and something I would wear out and about. I see my wedding day as the one day I get to wear a fancy wedding gown with lots of fluff and glam. Others feel differently and that's OK. If this is how you envision your day then wear it! I would add a Veil though to give it something extra.

I think it’s really pretty. How do you feel in it? Do you feel special and like a bride? That’s all that matters.

This dress is gorgeous!!! May I ask where you got it? As far as casual I really think its up to you, if you love it then wear it or maybe wear it to your shower? I also think it could be dressed up with jewelery and a veil

I think it's very pretty. Everyone has their own style and if you feel pretty that's all that matters. I was worried my dress wasn't "bridal" enough, but when I went looking for a different dress I kept going back to my dress for comparison. So....... looks like I am saying "yes" to the dress I already have! LOL

I think that's a beautiful dress and if I were you I would wear it. But I would think about if it fits the rest of your wedding. You don't have to match your dress to your wedding but you do want it to fit
