If you're doing a dress switch. Why? And when (before dinner/after first dance)?

I never wanted or understood having two dresses, but I am actually considering it now! I LOVE my dress, but one of the thing my FH and I want to do is a country swing dance after our cake cutting and we couldn't do that in my dress. I am considering wearing my wedding dress for the ceremony, grand entrance, first dance, dinner. Then change into a reception dress for dancing right before cutting the cake and opening the dance floor. I'm still not totally decided, but if I do, that would by why and my timeline

I switched after the first dance and at the beginning of dinner while we were waiting for the main course. Everyone was seated so it made sort of a second grand entrance that I didn’t intend.

After our ceremony we escorted our guests to the reception area (wine cave decked out in pirate decor), we grabbed a drink, then left guests to mingle and eat/drink during cocktail hour while we ducked out to change (into pirate outfits). We did a grande entrance upon our return.

I will be doing a switch. Never thought I would but ended up picking out a ballgown that I fell in love with.

Our wedding party will be going out after the wedding and I don't want to be dragging a huge dress around all evening and getting it filthy in bars. I'm likely going to change after the cake cutting.

I got my reception dress but I didn't feel bridal enough my fiance said to get whatever I wanted but I kept him in mind and he likes the dresses that show off my curves, so I got a ball gown for my ceremony dress, I will changing after the ceremony into the reception dress

I will be wearing my 1st dress through ceremony and reception dinner, then changing into my 2nd dress so I can easily move around and dance and not worry about stepping on/tripping over/lugging around a train
