Dress still not in

Hanna, on July 26, 2020 at 8:26 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 12
My original date is in 6 days but we postponed because of covid. I let the bridal shop know and they said my dress would be in regardless in May, then in June they said it’s on the way and i’ll get a call as soon as it arrives. I understand everything is delayed but I paid thousands of dollars for this dress and apparently it’s still “on the way” but they don’t have an exact location. Am I being critical? Even though my wedding is postponed I feel uneasy about no one knowing where this dress is. Any advice?

So is your wedding still in August 2020 or it was postponed until next year? Either way I understand your concerns, but even more so if you're getting married next month. The lack of communication about where your dress is what I find unacceptable.

Do they have a tracking number or anything?

I would hound them. Tracking information would be necessary before I would stop calling and asking for a manager. Not. Okay. Even with covid it should have been in with enough time for fittings. If you had or original date, you'd be u a creek unless the dress magically needed zero alterations

This 💯 Get details! If it’s quote-unquote on the way, the least they can do is provide a shipping confirmation with a tracking number.

We postponed until next year so i’m trying not to be over bearing and annoying about it cuz I know they have people who need their dresses before me. it’s just a little frustrating that i’m being told it’s on the way over and over again and then the date they tell me it’s gonna be in it still isn’t

Yeah I would be frustrated too because clearly the communication is lacking. If they are saying it's on the way they need to provide a tracking umber or something.

I agree with this 100%!! I highly doubt they shipped the dress without a tracking number available. I would keep checking with them multiple times per week until they are able to provide you with the tracking number or an update on what's going on with your dress. Even though your wedding is postponed, you still paid for your dress and you deserve to receive it as promised. Best of luck, I hope you get some info from them soon!

I agree there should be tracking! Was the dress ordered pre covid, or after? Not that it really matters but I’m sure things are hectic during covid. Thank goodness you moved the original wedding date 😬

I would definitely be on it to find out where your dress is and definitely don't tell them the new date because then it could just further delay it.

Hmmm ya, I’d be a bit upset at this point. 12 months for a dress? That’s crazy. I’d be calling daily for that tracking. And if no one has tracking and it’s not here, at what point is it lost in shipping? I hope you get your dress soon!!!!

So I called and asked and I guess whoever I was talking to “didn’t take good notes” and didn’t tell me that they have it on hold at the manufacturer bc my wedding was pushed back. they apologized and i’m not holding a grudge just a little annoying I had to call 3 or 4 times for them to tell me thag
