Dress Sleeves or lace overlay bodice? Help?!

Chelsea, on April 27, 2020 at 8:27 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 6
Hey guys! I have always wanted a dress with sleeves but ended up getting a gorgeous sleeveless crepe dress. Now that it’s bought, I’m having regrets about not going with what I’ve always seen myself in, which is sleeves. Also I’m very self conscious of my arms and am always most comfortable in sleeves on a day to day basis.

Does anyone think I can add sleeves like below or could the top of the dress be restructured with lace overlay? Waiting on covid to calm down before getting my fitting but I’m trying to be prepared. Any input is welcome thank you!
Top pic is my dress other pics are contemplated alterations.Dress Sleeves or lace overlay bodice? Help?! 1Dress Sleeves or lace overlay bodice? Help?! 2

First, your dress is so gorgeous! I wouldn’t change it at all because you look amazing in it! However, if you e always seen yourself in lace sleeves you could do a lace overlay for the ceremony and take it off after your first dance if you wanted. My friend had a dress similar to your and this is what she did. It was lovely. This was not her top but one like it: Dress Sleeves or lace overlay bodice? Help?! 6

I personally loved the sleeved look. My dress has sleeves! If you feel more confident with sleeves add them! I liked pics 3 and 4 sleeves the best. I think adding sleeping makes the dress more elegant. But it’s a beautiful dress regardless 😊

Yes you can definitely add sleeves to your dress. I have the same style shoulder strap as you on my dress and we are adding sleeves. When I purchased my dress the store also ordered an extra yard of the fabric of the dress to make the sleeves from it. I would find out from who you purchased the dress if they could order you an extra yard of the fabric.

Maybe a jacket, shawl or overlay. I wouldn't add to the dress permanently as it can be very confining and you can take it off if it gets in the way during reception.

    Honestly I wouldn’t change a thing!
But I get how you feel. I’m insecure about my arms and had to have something cover them. I would look into adding sleeves. I’m afraid a cover-up would take away from the neckline and back.
