Dress shopping

Megan, on February 26, 2022 at 6:02 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 1 3
Any thoughts on getting a wedding dress Online? My only worry is buying these said dresses and having to return them....I want to take my soon to be mother in law with me dress shopping to give her that experience because she doesn't have a daughter and my mother has passed away. But what if I can't find one in the stores around me? I thought to order one or a few online, but I know I'll have to go through a few and what do I do with all of those dresses to try from online? Plus, I'm short and stocky, so I know what may look good in the pic. May not look good on me.??? ThoughtS???

I've been having the same thoughts. I am on the short side side as well. What I am going is still go dress shopping in person mainly to get my sizes but also to see if I can find something I really love. If I don't find something in the stores I will buy online.

HIghly recommend going in person before online. You can try on the different styles to see what you like, plus you can get measured and ask them to write down your measurements. If you find the perfect dress, thats awesome! But if not then you have a better idea of what you like on your body as well as accurate measurements so you can more easily order online.

A couple designers offer at home try on for a fee like Jenny Yoo. BHLDN also offers returns so highly recommend that as an option. But I wouldn't rule out in person options before you've seen them! I think it would be worth a shot to check out a boutique that's close to you. A few tips from a bridal consultant of three years: we love pinterest boards, so helpful to get an idea of what you're looking for. Be open to different things- some dresses don't look great on the hanger, but can be show stoppers on! Consultants are used to dressing brides of every size, but sampe sizes vary. If you call to make the appointment, it's worth asking the size range of their samples. Hope this helps!
