Dress shopping

Brooklin, on July 1, 2019 at 3:43 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 12
This weekend I went wedding dress shopping for the first time! What an amazing experience! I’ve got 2 questions for yall
First, I fell in love with a dress. When I put it on something just felt right and as I walked in it I could see myself walking down the aisle to my future husband. But for some reason I couldn’t make myself say yes to the dress....maybe it was because this was my first trip and I feel like there might be another perfect but better dress out there? Or because this dress was nothing I had in mind for MY dress?

so my question is even though I fell in love with a dress that wasn’t what I had in mind at all should I get it or keeping shopping and keep it in mind?

and did anyone else have this issue where the dress you did fall in love with was completely unexpected?

I think more often than not, brides fall in love with a dress that is completely different from what they initially wanted. That's why the best dress shopping advice is to go in with an open mind.

That’s so true, I felt like I was pretty open to whatever but honestly maybe I wasn’t 🙃 Such an overwhelming decision.
Thank you so much for the feedback!!

Definitely keep it in mind. Sometimes you just need to try on other dresses to make sure it's the one. If you go again and nothing you try on gives you the same or better feeling, then go back to the one you fell in love with. Best of luck!

I fell in love with a fit and flare style dress at the first shop we visited. We out it in hold and then kept shopping. I ended up buying a ballgown that I found in the last store. A ballgown was what I've always imagined, but if I hadn't found my specific dress, I would have gone with something different.

The dress I chose wasn't anything like what I originally wanted when I first started shopping. I went window shopping by myself to try on styles and see what I liked and what I didn't. Well what you know it I fell in love with my dress. So I told myself if I still felt that way at the appointment with my girls and my mom then it was meant to be. At my second appointment I tried on other contenders, secretly telling my consultant which one I really wanted out of the three. Sure enough, when I tried it on, my mom could tell that that was the dress for me.

I bought pretty much what I had in mind-I had favorited it on the DB website and tried it on without realizing it. I wanted a tea length dress, I bought one. I wanted a somewhat simple bodice, I bought one. Sometimes you get exactly what you thought you wanted. I get the impression I’m in the minority though.

If you only went to one store, try one more. After you try on another 10-15 dresses you’ll know if the one you love is the one for you. 😍
