Dress shopping

Shannon, on September 10, 2019 at 6:10 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 6
So I've been waiting to go dress shopping for what seems like forever, I've always pictured going with my mom, dad and grandma and maybe a few of the wedding party, but my dad seems uninterested, he bas a very busy work schedule but he went with my sister for hers so I felt like he should be there for mine to. On top of that my FH sister is very pushy wanting to go and inviting herself to the appointment at one point in time we were very close but alot of drama happened and we have kept our distance so it feels weird to have her there now.
Is anyone else having issues dress shopping? Who did you take with you? I know some people go alone but I like to have feedback.

I took a friend who I knew would be honest but wouldn’t overwhelm me. I didn’t want to many opinions.

I almost had to go alone. My mom and both grandmothers are gone, my cousin/best passed away. My Aunt was going to go but ended up in the hospital with hip surgery...My niece went with me, that was is. She was a great person to take, but i'd always envisioned having a couple of people there. I ended up feeling like i'm the only one caring that I was getting married. If you don't feel as close to his sister I wouldn't want her to go either.

I took one of my friends who is also in my bridal party. The last time I went dress shopping (this is my 2nd marriage), my dad was ecstatic. That's unfortunate that your dad seems so uninterested, especially after going for your sister. You can literally take anyone you'd like even if it's just one person.

I took my two bridesmaids. I knew if I brought family it would introduce way too many opinions. Smiley heart

I took my mom and my MOH, though it was less shopping and more trying on samples that I ordered. My MOH took me to her FH's mom's house because my apartment was too small for any good looks and her apartment had two kittens we didn't want to risk the dresses around. They surprised me with a little party while I tried on the dresses with champagne and finger foods, a floor mirror, a little foot stool to stand up on, the whole nine. Find someone that will be supportive and help you have fun. After all, it should be fun! I was worried because I'm really self conscious about my body but everyone was super positive about all my choices.
