Dress Shopping Today

Molly, on November 30, 2019 at 9:01 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 6
So I am going wedding dress shopping today with my mom and my sister. I'm a little bit nervous that I won't find the dress that I am looking for or that the store doesn't have what I want. I do have a option b which is cocomelody. I'm excited and nervous all at the same time. Has anybody else felt this way.

Someone recently told me don't get the dress now. You might like something else down the road. It's 11 months until I get married it's time to get the dress. Also I plan to stop looking at dresses once I find the one I like.

    How exciting! Smiley heart

I went dress shopping with my mom and sister as well, and ended up getting the first dress I tried on at the one and only bridal shop I went to. (I tried on about 6-8 dresses there, and just kept wanting to take the others off and get back into the first one.)

It sounds like you have a specific style in mind, but definitely be open to trying on other silhouettes. You might be surprised at what flatters you and what you end up liking!

I bought a sample sale dress, so they have it in storage for me until I start getting alterations in June/July. They said that a new dress can take 4-8 months to come in. I'm sure the shop you're going to will advise you on all of that.

    Have fun!

Best of luck! Yes, DO NOT try on anymore dresses after you pick one. I had a dream dress in mind, but the picture I found was a few years old and I assumed it wasn't made anymore. Bought the dress I settled for, and then found out that they had the dress I wanted at another boutique. I couldn't help but go try it on, and I already had an appointment because I didn't think I'd ever find a dress I loved at the first store as a plus size bride on a budget. Now I'm paying for trying it on. I can't even get my original dress sold for half what I paid for it so I can attempt to buy the one I love.

They say once you purchase your dress that's when you stop looking at other dresses it'll make you very confused plus you may end up liking another dress better. I purchase my dress at 11 months and my wedding isn't till September. I go for atlernations in April I believe. You need to find and purchase your dress soon tho especially if they have to order it it will take a few months to get back unless you do a rush order.

Best advice try on every style dress because what you may be envisioning on your wedding day may not look great on you. And have fun and remember at end of the day it's your decision on what dress you should chose n wear because you will be wearing it all night nobody else will amd their comments n advice r welcomed but it's your decision on what you should say yes too.
    And have fun!!!

I was super nervous as I prepared to walk through the store's doors! It's a special experience, after all! It's totally fine if you don't make a decision today on what dress to get. Better to take your time than to wind up with dress regret. I hope you have a great time Smiley smile

I cried after my first dress appointment thinking I would never find anything I like. I went to a total of ten different shops... no exaggeration. I even tried on my dress, told my mom I hated it and 5 appointments later I went back to purchase it because nothing else compared and I couldn’t stop thinking about it. My problem was I have body issues and also didn’t want to have dress regret. Give it time! Don’t settle. Keep looking until you find one you love or if you’re like me “the one you’re least critical about.”
