Dress shopping tips?

Michelle, on March 12, 2020 at 8:43 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 2
Good morning! I am going to try on wedding dresses for the first time on Saturday! I am excited but also nervous. Any tips on what questions to ask or under garments to wear?

I had spanx on. I got one that goes from stomach down. Remember to go by a budget. ....speaking of which do you know what kind of dress you wanted? Poofy, mermaid, etc? Also depends on your shape. If you don’t know what kind you want ask the person who is helping you what kind of style is the best for you.

I had gotten 10 dresses. My mom, maid of honor, and lady helped me pick dresses. When you try it on decide if it’s 1 no, 10 yes or somewhere in between. Try them on then when you try on the dress again then decide if you like it more or less than something else. I suggest sleeping on the idea. I knew right away for my dress. If you are not sure come back another time. Try other places. If it’s big on you it’s also makes it much harder to decide. Place I went they used clips so the size 10 would be more of a 4. Which was really smart. (They had so many choices that way )

Bring any shapewear you might normally wear with a dress. Bring a pair of neutral heels in whatever height you think you'll plan on wearing for the wedding. Bring a couple different types of bras, regular, strapless, backless, etc.

Also, be willing to try on dresses that might not be what you think you want. I went in with a very specific idea of wanting a more traditional, lacy, ballgown style dress and ended up hating every one I tried on. I finally ended up loving a curve hugging, art deco style dress that was nothing like what I thought I wanted originally.
