Dress shopping can be one of the most fun parts of wedding planning or the most stressful! How many dresses did you try on? How many different stores did you go to? Are you still in the process of finding a dress? Share your wedding dresses and your runner ups!

I kind of treated dress shopping like any other purchase I make. I looked at pictures online, I compared costs and I went to a salon that had it and took it home. I didn’t try on any other dresses. I bought my reception dress without even trying it on! I didn’t have my mom there and didn’t want an emotional moment in the salon.

I totally had an emotional “oh my gosh” as I was carrying it to the car, though.

I kind of feel sad I didn’t embrace the whole bridal experience. I got my absolute dream dress but I didn’t take in the moment or sip champagne. I’ve honestly spent more time buying shoes than I did my dress.

I am happy to say I did find my dress but it was an interesting experience to say the least. I am so happy it ended up the way it did though. I went to four shops. I found one at a consignment shop I thought I loved but found out it had yellow beading due to it being an old style. (First picture) I decided against it. The second shop I went To was also consignment and was a major fail. I remember One was such a big ball gown I would Have been knocking things over walking. The third one I went to was also a bust because it was so expensive. My last experience was at David’s and I am So so happy with it and what I found. However this was the interesting part. I went with my bridesmaids and ended up finding a dress that I thought I absolutely loved. It was between two dresses I chose The cheaper. I sent my dad a text and had let him know I was Buying a dress and he lost his ever loving mind because I did Not take my mom with. I ended Up not buying the dress that day. (Second picture) I came Back with my mom about a month later to try the same two dresses. She really was indifferent. However I put On the more expensive of the two and I fell so in love with it and I justified spending the extra $$. (Last picture) two days later David’s had a major sale and I called and let them know and they ended up giving me 250$ back. The dress I got Ended up the same price as the first dress I was Going to buy from them. Overall I think I loved the experience. I must Have tried on about 20 dresses lol. I love My dress fully. Oh yea and it came with a hole in it so I had To get another one sent to me. That was another part of it.

I shopped for my wedding dress about 10 months before my wedding! It was the third dress I tried on and I didn’t want to take it off! I knew I loved it but I was worried about it happening so fast haha so we went to my next appointment at a different bridal store but as soon as I walked in I just knew I had already found my dress, so we went back and bought it!

The last four pics are my dress!

I never had the traditional dress shopping experience. I was specifically looking for white dresses that I liked rather than a wedding dress so I bought a couple online and I went to stores at the mall and I did it all by myself too aha. I tried on maybe six dresses and they all are unbelievable bridal despite being evening/prom dresses.

The first 2 pictures are the almost dresses, the 3rd picture is the dress i bought.

I had a bit of a roller coaster recently with dress shopping xD. I went dress shopping with my FMIL and my mom the days after my birthday. After trying on a bunch of dresses, I found 2 dresses that I absolutely loved, and couldn’t decide between the two of them. We ended up leaving and I spent the next few days looking back and forth between the two pictures. Liking a different one more each time. My mom and I decided to go to an off the rack dress shop the next Friday, my FMIL bad to work so she couldn’t go. I tried a few dresses on there but they were expensive and some of them were falling apart and the alterations and repairs would have been astronomical. We had nothing better to do so we ended up back at the David’s Bridal we had gone too 6 days earlier to look at dresses for her. She found her dress and it looks great on her. We decided to look at the wedding dresses to look at the two that I had loved again, and i ended up stumbling across the dress I ended up falling in love with and buying (a combination of the two dresses, of sorts). THEN 3 weeks later (right before it was delivered) I started to get major dress doubts and spent the last week overthinking it and doubting my choice. I just tried it on again today with a ball gown slip and it was perfect all over again Smiley smile all my worries were washed away (I still want to add detailing to the bottom of the skirt though).
