Just Said Yes October 2020

Dress shopping amid covid pandemic.

Denise, on May 30, 2020 at 12:37 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 7
So I was supposed to try on dresses back in March. Obviously with the pandemic I never got the chance. My wedding is planned in October and I am still holding on to hope that we won't need to cancel/postpone. What I just can't get over is trying on dresses with a mask. How do I get over this? Time is ticking and I feel I need to start dress shopping asap.

You could try dresses on at home? Azazie and Cocomelody have options for that. David's Bridal is also doing virtual appointments, and other salons may be doing that as well. If not, I say find a cute mask and go for it! Just make sure to hydrate- dress shopping is an exhausting process already, the dresses are heavy, and the mask won't help - but focus on your day and the fact that you're marrying your person. Yes the masks suck, but hopefully you won't need it in October.

Go go go! If you are getting a dress from a traditional bridal boutique where the dress will be made to order by the designer, you are very much running out of time and are severely limiting your options the longer you wait. You’ll still have a wonder to time trying on dresses, even with the mask - I promise! 😊

That's what I was afraid of... time! Thank you. I will definitely look to make appointments asap and get over the mask situation. It was never my intention to do this last minute.

It might help you get over the idea of masks, by changing your mindset about them Recently I told my FH “Masks are just the new fashion trend right now. So I need to get a variety to match my outfits!” 🤷🏽‍♀️ I’m an October bride as well, so I totally feel you. This pandemic is not at all what any of us could have ever imagined. But it’s here... this is life.... and life isn’t perfect. So we just keep rolling, we adjust and we make the best of it.

But definitely go dress shopping soon because time is slipping away..... and not having a wedding dress is much worse than wearing a mask. 😷 😉

The masks really don't change that much - it's just something we have to do right now. Don't let a little inconvenience meant to protect people ruin your dress shopping!

Even with Cocomelody, their production time is 45 days standard and if you pay more you may be able to get a dress within 40 days. Time is of the essence.
