Dress regret

Arianna, on August 23, 2019 at 7:03 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 18
I’ll start out by saying I absolutely love my dress. I was a little under pressure and bought it on a whim. My wedding is still over a year and a half out so I bought my dress much earlier than I wanted to. I can’t tell if I have dress regret or if I’m nervous I bought it too early without giving myself a chance to look around at other shops. If you have had dress regret, did you go to other shops to try on more dresses? Or should I just wait and trust that I picked the right dress? The body style of my dress is what I wanted and I love the lace, I just never pictured myself with a dress that has cap sleeves so this style is new for me.

I'll start by saying your dress is beautiful! If you aren't feeling it then you aren't feeling it. I had a confused feeling towards my dress but I'm 100% certain it's what I want. I think you should put it on, look at what you like, what you don't and make a real decision without people pressuring you. If it's not the dress you want then try to get that money back and get what YOU want. That's what I would do.

You're dress is beautiful! You look amazing. I cought my dress more than a year and half ahead of time and I def had some regret and anxious that I got mine too early.
But once my dress came in and I heard they didnt even carry it anymore I felt so much better and happy I got it when I did.

I chose to not look at anything else while I waited and just constantly looked at the pictures to reassure myself that I love my dress. But if you feel more comfortable go back to that shop and try on a few more dresses than try on your dress you picked.

I had put down a deposit on a dress that I thought was the one and I still had almost two years at that point till my wedding. I decided to cancel the dress because something was just not sitting right with me. I found my dream dress two weeks ago and I just knew that it was the one. I think your dress is absolutely stunning but you have to go with your heart and your gut. You’ll make the right choice!

You look amazing. Initially when I got mine I liked it that's for sure. I think eventually it really grew on me and I loved it the more I saw myself in it and realized the certain details it had that made it special.

Thus dress looks STUNNING on you. Trust your gut. I had slight flashes of dress regret because it wasn’t exactly what I had wanted but I was relieved when it arrived that I had made the right choice.

That dress is absolutely stunning on you!! I think so many people have dress regret because they want to keep looking and don’t really want to commit to a dress. If you love it I would say not to look anymore.

I think this dress looks beautiful on you! I bought my dress a year and three months out from my wedding and have had some regret. I started my alterations this past Saturday and once I saw it fitted to me I was so glad I had picked that dress there was just certain details I love that I knew I wouldn't find in a different dress. If you're having some doubts you can always go back and try it on to reassure yourself if it is or isn't the right one for you.

That dress looks amazing on you. Your figure looks great.

I dealt with this as well. Found my dress at the first shop I went to, about 15 months before the wedding date. I dealt with guilt more about not allowing myself to take the time to try on lots of dresses and have the experience. I also only had my mom with me at the time of purchase as I was "just looking around" that day with no intentions of purchase. Whoops. So i felt bad my friends were not there. I did a risky thing and continued to shop at other stores (alone). I tried on probably 25 more dresses. Ultimately, the one I bought was the right one for me.

I personally think you look amazing in the dress! If you really don't love it though, you have plenty of time to order another one and get it altered

That’s what I’ve been doing too! Mine was on a sample sale so I didn’t want to risk losing it. I get to pick it up next month so I’m excited to try it on again!

It’s so hard to buy a dress so far out! I took my MOH and one of my BM thinking I was just going to look. I think the hardest part for me is knowing I can’t have that experience with my mom.

I have my dress and feel some kind of regret as well because it was the third dress I tried on at the first place I went to. All the dresses are so beautiful and it’s so fun to try them on. Overall every time I look at pictures I remember why I picked my dress, no picture compares to mine. But I still feel some regret as well. Even though my dress is 100% the right choice for me. I think it’s pretty normal to feel that way. Wish bridal shops had dress up appointments that you got to dress up and have fun without wasting the consultants time.

It's very pretty but if you dont love it than you just dont love it. I'm 2 sided on this. On the one side I get why we all want that perfect amazing dress that makes us feel more beautiful than we thought possible BUT on the other hand it's just one day and it is a gorgeous dress that everyone is going to think youre gorgeous in and that photographs well and that's the only part that's gonna last more than the day when it comes to the dress anyway so I wouldn't stress too much. The event is fun but as long as you're with the one you love the most perfect dress you've ever laid eyes on suddenly doesn't seem as important maybe?
You just do whatever you feel is right. No consumerism or fitting in pressure included.
