Dress Regret?

Abby, on August 5, 2022 at 1:58 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 10
I just said yes to my dress a few days ago and now I’m having second thoughts. There’s no returns or exchanges for my dress and it’s currently in the mail on its way to me. I loved it when I put it on at first but looking at pictures now I’m not sure. The floral lace is big and not very dainty and I honestly can’t even tell what kind of flowers are on the dress. Im adding a small petticoat under the dress to add a little more fullness since it looks like a pencil skirt and then a tulle over skirt without it. I’m also worried it looks too much like a prom dress?I’ll attach some pictures. I’d appreciate any advice. Thanks! Dress Regret? 1Dress Regret? 2

I love that on you! It is so beautiful and elegant! I honestly had second thoughts about my dress too. I kept going back to pictures of other dresses I tried on. I don't think everyone has that crying moment and I don't think there is just one dress that is perfect for everyone. I think I could've said yes to a couple of dresses, but I still love mine! And you will probably feel different when you have your actual dress in hands! The sample ones are never the right size and are usually worn out, so it's hard to get the full image. I think no matter what you will look beautiful!

I think it's 100% natural to second guess yourself after you buy your dress. I know I did! But you picked it a few days ago for a reason, and I'm guessing that it had something to do with the way you felt with the dress on? When your dress comes in and you go to try it on again for the first time, the chances are you will still be in love with it.

It looks stunning on you and I love the train. As everyone says I think most brides second guess their dress choice. It's hard to stop looking!

It’s beautiful! And looks wonderful on you. Dress regret is totally normal. I had it and I’ve seen a lot of people on here experience the same. I’ll say that when I had it altered and it finally FIT me I really fell in love with it! I didn’t have that crying moment or anything. Not everyone does and that’s okay

1st off, I want to say that you look absolutely stunning!!!! I cannot express how beautiful you look in that gown. You are wearing the gown. It is not wearing you which is very important.

2nd, dress regret is a total thing. I was torn between 2 dresses when I picked mine and ultimately I chose the one that made my mother cry (I cried in both). Part of me feels like I messed up, but another part of me knows that until I have it on and have the alterations made I won’t fully know. The positive is that you have time and you can add or take away things once you gave the dress. Don’t stress and trust your intuition. You picked the dress for a reason. It will all work out just as you envisioned it will.

You look absolutely stunning, and I don't think it does now, nor will it ever, look like a prom dress! A lot of bridal advisors actually tell us to NOT look back on our dress pics because the pictures almost never do the dress justice. Let's be honest, there will ALWAYS be another dress you "love more" because there are literally tens of thousands of incredible dresses out there. Dang near everybody I know second guessed their dress after they got it!

If I was you, I'd stop looking back on the pictures of it, and don't browse other dress sites or pages on social media. You'll just keep second guessing yourself! If you start getting alterations and you realize you hate it, then look elsewhere. But I don't think that'll be the case!

I cried for my dress and still had doubts afterwards. lol i think it's normal. i feel like it has to do with the commitment to the dress you've waited so long to find and the high expectations for the big day, its hard not to pick at every detail. I think we'll forever fantasize on the dress we don't end up with. I loved my dress by the end of the emotional whirlwind hahah.

Well, it's cute. If you don't like it, sell it! Then buy your dream dress!
