Dress regret...?

I LOVE your back up dress. It's so gorgeous and it think it's perfect for a garden wedding. You look lovely, and in my opinion it's prettier than your original choice.

I have thought about the exact same thing too, and I dont know how Ill feel. I really like the dress I got, but I had to compromise on somethings regarding the dress because of budget.

I am getting married for the second time. I didn't love my first dress. I always wished I had splurged a little more and gotten something I loved. Unfortunately I kind of knew from the start the marriage wouldn't last and figured I would get what I wanted someday. (So sick, I know).
So this time I splurged and got my dream dress! I am certain on the man and dress this time around!

This is going be my second marriage and for my first wedding I got my “dream dress” and spent $1600 on it.. 🤦🏽‍♀️ . Looking back, I have to say that the wedding is NOT about the dress. The dress is just one aspect of the entire event. Additionally, although I liked my dress and others thought I was beautiful that day, I guarantee not a single soul remembers the dress. They didn’t spend time looking for it, they didn’t try it on and get excited, they didn’t “connect” with the dress the way I did. So it wasn’t something that was extremely memorable for them. Instead, they remember the the dancing, the emotions, the laughing, the fun they had overall etc.
It sucks but this is true.... unless your dress is something that stands out from a typical white wedding dress (for example if it’s red or bright yellow or the train is 30 feet long or it’s got lights on it, etc.) it’s going to look like another white dress to all of your guests. Sure, it will be beautiful on you and they will acknowledge that. But they’re not going have the same focus on the dress as being this wonderful dream the way brides do.

So for this second wedding, I’m looking for a dress that I like and that looks good on me. I’m also not going to spend more than $500. For me personally, the fact that I spent such a big amount on a dress that I wore for 8 hours is one of a few things that I learned from and won’t do again this time.

Not sick, life happens and we all learn to trust that gut over time tehe (I know I did over time, I can't imagine what would have happened if I had married my first love-would have been terrible), anyway, thanks mama !!!

When I saw the first picture I hadn't read it all yet and thought it was your back up dress. Your backup is GORGEOUS, and absolutely fits the theme. It'll look so beautiful in the pictures too!
