Dress regret

Macy, on March 25, 2022 at 6:41 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 5
Hi everyone, I bought a dress last year that was way too poofy since the sales lady said I could remove most of the crenoline to soften the skirt of the dress. I ended up removing 2 layers as part of the alterations. However, I am not liking the way the tulle skirt is looking and how it’s almost overlapping layers. I feel like it’s adding quite a lot of bulk to the dress still and making me look larger. Any advice?

You look gorgeous in that dress. Maybe they could trim the outer layer of tulle so it's the same length as the rest. You could also maybe do a belt if you are worried about it looking bulky. It looks fabulous on you though.

I agree with Jen, it looks beautiful. Maybe look into a sparkly belt to accent your waist. Also, make sure each individual layer is steamed, it will help it lie flat.

Is your dress still at the seamstress? If so, go back and tell them you’d like another layer of crinoline taken out and ask if there is a way to remove the overlapping layers in the front. (Maybe by removing the lace appliqués, rearranging the tulle and then putting appliqués back on?)

Another thought. Did you try walking around and dancing? The overlapping layers might actually help with the movement of the dress and you might end up liking them?

Good luck! Please let us know what you decide 🤩
