Dress regret??

Do you really love your dress? Are these feelings normal? So I went wedding dress shopping for the first time the other day. Went to 3 stores. I want a low back, sexy, long sleeve, mermaid type dress. Couldn’t find any until the 3rd store. It has the lace sleeves, low sexy back, but I feel like it doesn’t poof out enough at the bottom. It’s a sheath type dress. It’s all beautiful lace but for some reason I’m going back and forth about my feelings. I like it but then I feel like it’s not the one. Idk if it’s because I wanted a more sleek smooth fabric or what. Did any of you experience theses feelings but loved it in the end? It was like the only dress that was really close to what I wanted. This is my dress.

Thats a beautiful dress and yes I had dress regret because I really just wanted to get shopping over with so I bought something that I thought was pretty for the sake of getting out of the store.

I went back the next day with my mom and tried on 3 more dresses and ended up cancelling the first order and getting a new dress. I am happy with my decision now, though there are a TON of dresses that I think are gorgeous and I would've loved to try, I really couldn't afford anything more than what I bought.

You have to be happy with your decision. If that dress made you feel happy and beautiful, that's the one.

Thank you so much!! You see I know it’s a first world problem. But it’s a big decision. I’ve thought about what kind of dress I wanted even before getting with my fiancé. I thought about cancelling the order to give myself time and maybe another day to look but we get married in May so I’m almost pushing time. I go back and forth with how I feel. Idk what to do. What would you do?

I'd go back and try it on one more time. If you're not really sure you need to see yourself in it again to make double sure. Have you tried other styles that might surprise you? Either way, only you can make that decision but maybe you need to see it on yourself again.

Can you wear a slip underneath to poof it out more? My dress is a sheath, and I bought a slip for that same reason, but I also bought a tulle over-skirt for our church ceremony as well.

I have tried other styles but I knew what I wanted. Lol I’m still sticking with the same kind of dress. I think I’ll call and ask if I can cancel the order and then go see one more time before making a decision. And yes the lady said something about adding and under thing to it lol

Have you though about trying a peticoat to give it the poof you want? They make them specifically for each type of dress!

Here is an example from amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Shimaly-Petticoat-Fishtail-Underskirt-Crinoline/dp/B07B6SD6YS?crid=1FC1VBKI5QIR2&keywords=mermaid+petticoat&qid=1540476098&sprefix=memaid+pet%2Caps%2C198&sr=8-5&ref=sr_1_5

I have super bad dress regret, but I am too far in the process to return it plus my mom bought it for me (the one thing they [her and my dad] are contributing to the wedding), so I understand the feeling...

I loved my dress when I found it, and I knew I loved it but that didn’t stop me from thinking I made the wrong decision! Then, once it came into the salon in my size and I tried it on again I fell back in love and knew I made the right decision. I even had doubts during my alterations appointment, especially the last one which was 2 weeks before the wedding. But when I put it on the day of the wedding I knew it was perfect.
If you’re not sure, I would go back in and try it on! And it doesn’t hurt to keep looking if you didn’t purchase the dress yet.

Dress regret is nothing out of the ordinary. You're not alone Smiley smile I picked my dress in my very first appointment, nearly a year ahead of time. And of COURSE I had moments where I was thinking "oh my god, what if there's something BETTER out there?" or "what if the style of the wedding morphs into something different the more I plan" or a billion other what if questions. I fought the urge to even browse other dresses online for nearly a full year, and in the end, the day of my wedding, as soon as I put that dress on, I was 100% confident I chose the right one. It was MY dress, there was no doubt.

Trust your gut - if you chose it once and you felt confident, you probably chose the ONE. And from the looks of it - the one you chose is gorgeous!

Thank you so much guys for the feedback. I did call the salon and my consultant was like come on in! Lol we are going to put it on again to see about it. She said she would have never thought I was second guessing the dress. She said they could also bring in the sides so that it does appear to be a more flare.

Thank you. I’m glad there are other brides out there that can relate. It’s stressful because this is one time.

I have only looked at pictures online of dresses and I have a general sense of what I want but when I go I feel like I am gonna be all over the place and not be able to decide in fear that there is something better at a different store even if I've gone to more than one store already.

I think it is a beautiful dress. I could see where you say it does not flare enough, although the model is standing in a weird way to truly tell. I hope you figure it out!! Definitely do not want to regret the one you chose!

I had complete dress regret and went back and got a dress I loved and was really more my style. I could not be happier & after the fact when I showed H my before dress his exact words were "I am glad you changed, the first one is NOT you".

I would say go back and try on others, if not for anything, but to allow yourself to fall in love with your choice all over again.

Also, stop looking at wedding dresses. Once you do go back and try on more.
