Dress Preservation?

NextChapterReady, on August 9, 2019 at 12:24 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 2 8

Is anyone going to do dress preservation for their wedding dress? I'm not sure what all is involved with that. Do dry cleaners do it? Or are there specific companies?

What is everyone doing with your dress? Did anyone do preservation? What all went into it?

Thanks all! Smiley smile

I am! Right now it's being dry cleaned, then I'll preserve it. I think dry cleaners will do it but there are a lot of companies online that will preserve.

We went to Elegance Preserved as recommended by our bridal salon (who also gave us a $100 voucher). They offer dry-cleaning and preservation.

Preservation was offered on a discount when I bought my dress so I can't tell you what goes into it. I got a box and some papers and they said to come back when I want it preserved.

I just wedding preservation at David's Bridal. I'm not sure if the dress has to be purchased from there or not.

I had my dress preserved. They clean it, press it, put it in an archival box to keep it from yellowing, and include any accessories you want in there. I had my veil, garter and I think the "bride" hanger (I can't remember, haven't looked at it in a little while) in the box, and it currently lives with my mom until we buy a home and have more permanent storage of our own Smiley smile

My dress shop offered it for a discounted price, but I'm sure anywhere you go will have at least a recommendation on where to go.

I've looked into dress preservation from David's Bridal. That's an option!

I had researched it before I made the plan to trash the dress.

I think local dry dry cleaners can do it. If you Yelp it or check with your bridal salon they’ll be able to give recommendations.
