Dress Outlet? Wondering if anyone got their dress from the "the dress outlet"

Erika, on September 19, 2019 at 9:31 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 19
I am seeing beautiful dresses on this site. Non customer reviews though and unsure the origin.

Hey Erika! This happens a lot where you find a great looking dress site but can’t find any reviews. Unfortunately, a lot of sites sell garments that are of poor quality or that have taken their dress designs from other designers or websites. You are right to exercise caution when you feel like this may be the case.

Have you thought about doing a reverse Google image search so that you will be able to find the original website where the dress photo is featured (if there is one)?

As you mentioned already, you should definitely look into the fine print and their returns policies. Is there a customer care email address that you could reach out to so you could ask some questions that are concerning you?

Can I ask what you found out? I'm trying to find bridesmaids dresses but these scam sites are really frustrating.

It appears to be a Chinese knockoff site.

Hi I came across this site while I was doing a search. I am an employee at thedressoutlet.com!

We are based in Los Angeles, California. There are not many reviews on our site because we don't advertise much. All dresses are Original. Shipping within the US is free and you can return it for a 20% restocking fee or for full store credit or free exchange.

You can also call our office and they will help you. If you wanna pick up locally you can pick up from any warehouse if you have one near you.

Best, Judith from The Dress Outlet

Hi, it is not a knockoff chinese site. It is registered with the Chamber of Commerce in California.

Their return policy is misleading. The day your package arrives file for a return whether you need to return it or not. You only have five days. Period. I'm stuck with two outfits I do not want that were never even tried on. NO returns after five days. Given our shipping and availability issues now, this is just not good business. I will not order from them again because of this, whereas I might have had this been stated clearly and handled differently. I'm reporting them to my credit card company, the California Consumer protection agency as well as the better business bureau and complaining to their corporate office.

Dress Outlet: This is NOT an outlet. Their "outlet/sale" prices are the same as the original, full price at Nordstrom, Lord and Taylor, etc. Their MacDuggal dresses "sale" prices are the same as the MacDuggal.com full price. Therefore, based on this false advertising, I would stay away.

Just wondering if anything ever became of the reporting you did to your credit card company, CA Consumer Protection Agency, BBB and their corporate office. I am in the same situation as you being past 5 days to return two items totaling almost $200. If you could respond, I would really appreciate it. Thank You!!

I had no recourse anywhere, since the web site actually says five days. Its benign and misleading they agreed. The policy is NO returns after five days. (and of course no, customized item return ever) So the instant, it ships I would call for a return number, which is actually the order number. Call them, email them, and post all over social media, I did and they agreed to accept my return, with a 20% restocking fee, IF I DELETED the information I was posting online.

That is NOT why you don't have reviews. The site actually says five days. Its benign and misleading. The policy is NO returns after five days. (and of course no, customized item return ever) So the instant, it ships every customer needs to call for a return number,

Not a knock off.... Just a ripoff return policy. FIVE days or you BOUGHT IT, whether it fits or not.

The second it arrives from The Dress Outlet, call for a return number, before you open the box. NO returns ever of course on customized items, but the site implies returns accepted with 20% restocking fee. This is misleading, there are NO returns at all after five days PERIOD. I reported them to Better Business, my credit card company and on many social media sites. They offered me a refund with the 20% restocking fee if I DELETED ALL my comments online.
