I really love this dress (except for the back) because I'm not a fan of the buttons or open back. I emailed the seller hebeos who advertises alterations as well and they replied that while purchasing I can include an alteration wishlist. I need opinions because I want to wear a corset from adore me under my dress and add a corset type back to the dress to cover it and lose those dumb buttons. This is a big change from the original back. What do you think I should do? Should I do that? Should I get the dress and take it to a local alterations location or should I try to find a dress that looks the same except with the corset back. Opinions. Has anyone purchased from hebeos. Are things accurate to what's shown on their website?

Personally, I would not make those alterations to this gown. The back in beautiful as is and you can tell the dress was made to look that way. I think the corset back will definitely look like an afterthought or an add on. Also, corset backs are a little outdated, where as the original dress is very modern. If you don’t like the dress as is, I would look for something different.

Personally, I would not purchase a dress on that site. It is a site based in China that recreates knockoff dresses of the pictures posted. The dress might look the same, or it might look terribly different with poor quality. The price is low, so if you're willing to take a chance, you can go for it, but they are not the original manufacturer; they just make copies of the dresses pictured.

Buying from that site would be a BIG risk for your wedding, at least in my opinion. I've heard some bad experiences. Also, that change is pretty major structurally, so I would try to find something else. with a back that you like. It will be WAYYYYY easier for a seamstress to add sleeves and a similar neckline to a strapless corset back dress, than to add a corset to a dress with that back and neckline. Good luck!

I agree with the others. Trying to alter this dress would be much harder than simply finding something closer to what you want in the first place.

More importantly, I assume when you say you wish to wear a corset under your dress, you mean a proper, fully boned corset? I don't think that is going to work.

Firstly, you'd have a LOT of bulk under the dress from two corseted backs one on top of the other and the ribbons to tie them, and the restriction from two might be a bit much even if the dress itself is more for looks than actual size decrease. Secondly, you are betting that the boning from the corset underneath won't show through the lace or fabric of the dress itself at the front - and the seaming on the outer dress would have to be identical to the boning channels on your dress to ensure they line up, or you definitely will see them.

You all have good points. I've decided to scratch that idea. Most of the dress is perfect but especially with the hebeos reviews. Yeah. Thank you. At least that dress will give people helping at a place an idea of what's almost perfect.
