Dress Nerves

A, on April 27, 2020 at 3:40 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 20

So this is my dress with my hair/makeup/jewelry etc the way I was planning to do it for my wedding. I feel like I look like a kid playing dress up though, and not at all like a classy bride. How do I fix this? (Another reference pic of my dress in better lighting below, along with my wife’s dress)

You could add a detachable train!

Wouldn’t that look odd on a short dress?

I think your hair up actually may help. You look great, but yeah, the 1st picture does make you look more "youthful" lol.

I think it's the hair that maybe you can try a different style

I would pair the dress with heels and some type of veil

Out venue isn’t really conducive to heels and I can rarely find them anyway as I usually wear children’s sizes. And my FW is very anti-veil. But thank you for the suggestions, really.

Hair up and add some volume and an accessory. A dramatic lip would also bring some glamour to your look.

If you do go with the detachable train here are some examples. I would definitely put your hair up and go with a softer (pinker) lip color.

I second the detachable train, maybe a necklace or jewelry that makes more of a statement?

Nope. I saw quite a few. Tulle are usually less expensive but you can also match your dress material.

Put wedge on if you can’t use heels. I will be on wedge at my beach ceremony. I am wayyyy too short to not wear high heels. I am only 4”7, and wear 12 years old girls clothing most of the time.
Try around hair do. Half up half down might be something for you. And if you are afraid to look like a kid, like I do, wear mermaid or sheath dress to show your mature body 😉

I would say only wear the tiara if you are 100% comfortable with it. It takes a lot of confidence to look natural in a tiara so if you aren't totally comfortable it can look awkward in pictures. Also, if you go with the tiara, I would definitely to all major jewelry to match or it just doesn't fit the look. I would also go for the up-do! Lastly, make sure to be self-aware of your posture when you wear a strapless dress! I am the worst sloucher and always see pics of me in strapless dresses and am like UGH cause it just makes my bad posture so obvious and ruins the pics!

I definitely recommend your hair up, a statement necklace and a bold lip.

Hi Audrey! I love your dress first of all Smiley smile
Opinions: I think if you’re going to wear the tiara, you should wear your hair up. If you would like to wear your hair down, I say no tiara would look best and give it sexier look! I’ve included some inspo photos with both hair up and down! Dress Nerves 6

Hair up (a nice messy dew) I will attach a picture, a little wedge to add a little spunk? And makeup - maybe more eyeshadow but still natural (I'll add pictures). Most importantly stand nice and tall and rock it!!! Congrats! The short dress is so edgy and fun Dress Nerves 13

I would wear your hair up and skip the tiara.
