Dress mistake

Michele, on November 2, 2019 at 7:24 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 9
Today I went shopping for my dress, I picked out 6 to try on without looking at the price tags. Most of them I chose were on racks in the same section. Upon trying them on I fell in love with 1 and another was a close 2nd. The one I love is $600 more than my budget so I had to pass. I settled the the 2nd choice. I'm kicking myself for not looking at the tag and trying it on. Now I'm disappointed in my choice, even though my mom, sister and daughters all love it on me.

I'm sorry girl!!! That's the worst. My CONSULTANT pulled one that was too expensive and had me put it on. I fell in love with it and ended up buying it. Luckily it was only a couple hundred over my budget. I'm sure the one you bought is still very pretty!

It is but I just LOVED the other one. If it wasn't $600 over my budget it would be in my closet!! Once I get back the one I'm buying I'm sure I'm going to love it. It was ordered to fit my measurements.

I think you will love it no matter what, just because it will be what you marry your fiance in. The day my FH proposed, I wore a sweater that I didn’t really like, just because it was warm and I knew we would be outside. Now I LOVE that sweater just because of the memories attached to it, and I get sentimental every time I wear it.

I loved lots of dresses and almost bought more than one. The more I looked the more my budget went up because to get the bling I wanted, it was $200 more. That was worth it but pretty sure, I would have walked away from the $600 more. Once your all jazzed up with jewelry etc it will be perfect

I am sorry. The dress I fell in love with was $350 over my budget. I really did my best NOT to get it. I tried on dress after dress after dress and boutique after boutique and none of them were my favorite at all. So I felt like I had no choice but to go back and get it. Look at this way love, at the end of the day you want your dress to not only fit you well, but speak about who you are. You want to look and feel beautiful on your day. See if they can exchange it and maybe you can make payments on the dress you really like. Or cut something from the wedding so that you can get the dress you love. I wanted a harpist at my wedding to play the harp while people are being seated etc. It costs $350, so I cut the harpist to so that I can get the dress I love. I hope it all works out for you dear.

If you know in your heart that it’s your dress, maybe cut cost somewhere else, take a few plus ones away, pick up a few extra shifts at work?

That sucks. I'm sorry. Smiley sad It always sucks knowing what could have been. I hate to say it, but I too went over budget. Not by much, only $300 so I justified it. (Before taxes/rushed shipping it would have been only not even $200 over budget.) I think a lot of girls end up caving when it comes to the dress.

Could you wait for a sale to get the one you originally loved? I got my dress and veil during a 30% off sale, otherwise I wouldn’t have been able to afford all of it together and it would have been over my budget.
