Dress is too big around chest area. Solutions?

Erin , on June 10, 2019 at 2:35 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 3
I get married in 39 days and I just got my dress back from alterations last week. I’ve been losing weight and now my dress is slightly too big around my chest area. Not to mention there’s a lot of boning in my dress so it’s just not tight around my boobs, it sticks out at the top. The people who did my alterations advised getting a tape to tape it to myself. Anyone have this issues that has any good tips or solutions? What should I use?

Is there anyway you can bring it back and get it fixed? You're still over a month out which I feel like should be plenty of time to get something like that fixed. I'm getting married next weekend and my dress won't be done until this Wednesday.

I’d have it altered again! You don’t want to deal with tape on your wedding day.

Can they alter it again for you? If they really can't I'd look for a bulkier bra to wear under the dress, or sew-in cups - though without seeing the dress on you I'm not sure if this will address the issue. As for tape I've used Hollywood brand, and it's ok for regular dresses, but if yours is so loose it needs help staying up it might not be strong enough, it's better for small details and you want to feel super secure
