Dress Hem Length

So I’m having second thoughts about where the last pinned my dress for the hem last week. It was about an inch off of the ground, which I thought was good at the time, because I don’t plan to wear my heels all night, but I do plan to wear them for the ceremony and pictures. The more I’ve thought about it, the more I think it might be too short. I just called and made another alterations appointment for this afternoon. The length may be way worse in my head than it actually is, but I want to at least put it on and see. Should the hem be a little off the ground? Can anyone share their full length wedding dress pictures so I can see where your dress is hemmed?

The hem of your dress should be slightly above the ground so you don't trip on it when you walk. It should not touch the ground.

It should glide over the floor, not drag. Your hem length is perfect right now. You won’t trip over it when you dance.

An inch off of the ground seemed like too much. I just want it barely off the ground. Once again, i could be remembering it way worse in my head because I’ve spent the last week thinking about it.

Update: I went back to David’s Bridal and tried it on. It’s just off the ground, and doesn’t look as bad as I had worked it up to in my head. Glad I went back and set my mind at ease.
