So, I bought a dress way back in August right after getting engaged and I developed some dress regret. Since, I've had it altered and my heart keeps going back to it. However, I also can't stop thinking about a different, much more simple dress. I'm consider wearing my big, original, ornate dress for my ceremony and first look since it suits the location more, then the more simple dress for the reception (different location) as sometimes I feel like the first dress is just.. too much. The second dress really is quite cheap at $350 with discounts. I just worry that my first dress is either too much or I'll regret not wearing it the whole day because I was afraid to be "too ornate" or "too much"PhotosSmiley surprise riginal dress without alterations Original dress with sleeves addedSecond dress in consideration https://imgur.com/uujv0qi

Both are beautiful dresses! Totally think if you can afford the second you should go for it if that’s what your hearts telling you. Think about how each dress feels when you dance and sit as well. Especially if you’re doing a dress for the ceremony and a dress for the reception it’s inportant to be comfortable! You can always take photos in both dresses as well, just make sure you feel confident because that’s most important!

Personally, I am in LOVE with your first dress!! (It actually looks similar to the one I chose!)

Dress regret seems to be very common, which makes me feel better as I've had a teeny bit, which I've hidden because I was afraid everyone else immediately loved theirs. I think everyone experiences it before they can try their dress on once it's altered and everything. However, since you've seen yours altered, if you feel that your regret will continue as you get closer to the wedding, I'd say do what makes you feel the best on your day. (Especially since the second dress is pretty inexpensive!) It depends on how you feel in each dress and the kind of statement you want to make.

I'd love to see what you choose to do!

Both dresses are absolutely gorgeous! Though I tend to lean more toward the more princess-y styles!! And the original dress altered with the sleeves is SO beautiful! You do whatever you want, It's YOUR wedding and you have the right to be extra dazzled up in your gorgeous dress all day of your wedding!

I think both dresses are very pretty and you look great in both. Do not second guess your decision.

I don't think the original is too much. Plus you only get one day to wear it and you love it so you may as well keep that beauty on the whole day Smiley smile

Kimberly--these are both so ridiculously pretty! Love love love love! I'm totally obsessed with the sleeve detailing you added to the first dress!

I think if you can afford the second dress, GO FOR IT! I don't think the first dress is "too much" at all, I think you look like a dang princess! ?But I also think the second dress looks a little more party-comfortable! Plus then you get twice as many compliments! Smiley xd

I personally like the first dress more; however, both are pretty. This is your day, so whatever you feel is good!

You have great taste! Both dresses are gorgeous... but I absolutely love the first one you have had altered. I completely understanding overthinking your decision, but you are a total knockout in the first one. If the second one had been an exit dress- then I could justify the additional purchase, but the second is a smiliar size- it just does not do your body justice like the first. It is YOUR wedding day, and you should feel like a beautiful princess, and not worry about being over the top. I dont think your dress says that AT ALL, for what its worth, it just is beautiful. I think you go with your gut- wear the first dress all day. enjoy every minute.

    Both dresses are absolutely gorgeous.

I agree with you though. So this is my opinion: I think the first dress should be ceremony, the special dances and eating, and then change into the second one for the rest of the night. That way, you get plenty of wear out of the ornate one, and then you can have a much more simple, but still elegant one to dance the night away in (i also think the second dress will be easier to raise your arms etc while dancing). i wouldn't feel guilty-they're both pretty similar and both really pretty-I'd definitely give them both spotlight!

I returned my first dress before too much time went by and exchanged it for my dream dress. I here you. I love love love the first dress. I do not think the "reception" dress does you any justice. Wear what you like though!

The second dress is beautiful but I really adore your first dress! I think the bride can never be over dressed, no matter the venue. I also think I will be so sad to take off my absolutely ridiculous ball gown at the end of the night because I will never be able to wear a dress like that again.

I'd stay in the original dress all day! The second dress is beautiful, but the first one is definitely a show stopper. Might as well stay in it! This is your day to go above and beyond!

This! They look like they have the same build just one is lacey and one isn't. I wouldn't get the 2nd dress.
