So... I went to pick up my wedding gown, which I purchased from the sale section of David’s. What they tried to give me was what looked like a SAMPLE dress with face make up smeared all over the inside and loose beads/threads. The dress also didn’t fit like the one I tried on.
When I ordered the dress in store, I was aware that it was a sale dress, but I was not told I was ordering a sample!!!! One, prices for samples are different!! Two, I would have picked something else if all they had left in that style were sample dresses!
They tried to punt it off as the stock being low so they shipped me what was available. And this is what happens when I order from the sale/clearance section. What?!?!?

I was so confused, I didn’t get mad, but just asked for an exchange...

Has anyone else had an experience like this? I feel like they tried a bait and switch on me.

A lot of their really good “sales” are samples. Online does state when it’s a sample sale v regular sale.

It was not labeled as a sample sale online. I asked if it was going to be an off the rack dress and they said no.

I think you are doing the right thing by asking for an exchange. You should have been told before purchasing that it was a sample dress and given the opportunity to decide if you would like something different. I purchased my dress from David's Bridal as well and I did find that my dress fit differently then the one I tried on in the store. I was told the ones in the store are stretched out from being tried on so much, which can affect the fit throughout as well as the length. I ended up having to exchange mine for one with extra length because the one I tried on fit perfect, but mine was way too short. When I showed them the pictures they agreed and exchanged it without a problem. Sorry this happened. At least you are getting to exchange it and hopefully find something better
