Dress Drama/Slightly Panicked.

Becka, on March 13, 2016 at 5:30 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 11

I had my final fitting yesterday and my dress still needs to be shortened. I said okay and took my bridesmaid dresses and she told me mine would be done Tuesday. Got home and had 2/3 of the girls try on their dresses and both zippers broke. 1 dress we got it half way zipped up before the zipper snapped. Dress 2 got half way up and the zipper got stuck. Had to break the zipper to get the dress off of her. Back to the alterations lady and now she says she won't have them done till Friday morning. I am really panicking. On a funny note. Attached is a pic of my mom, bil, and fbil, all trying to get the dress off. They had to use pliers! This week is off to a rough start. :/

Oh no! I'd consider another seamstress. Maybe she is overwhelmed bc 3 things wrong is not normal. The length issue should be easy to fix tho. Ps-not a professional but i do alterations and make from scratch frequently. 0 for 3 is not okay!

It's not her fault the zippers broke, we called David's Bridal to get replacement zippers and they said it was a common problem with the dresses. I also don't have time to find another seamstress with getting married next Saturday. We were supposed to leave Friday morning but now have to wait.

It was! I felt so bad for my sister. I have never had to use pliers in my life for dresses.

I just hope we can get back on schedule quickly on Friday, although I guess it would be to easy if everything went smoothly this week.

I had issues with my zipper from DB for a bridesmaid dress if you find out getting stuck rub either chapstick or a candle over the zipper a few times and it should loosen up. Just be careful not to get anything on the dress.

@Kristina. It was the only place we found a dress style in everyone's budget. Glad I could make you laugh though lol

@Sara we tried everything last night and nothing budged the zipper.

Ugh, zippers - we had to send back my sister's MoH dress for the same reason. The seamstress should be able to replace them without much fuss though, don't worry!
