Dress doesn’t match the theme...

Melissa, on November 6, 2018 at 1:46 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 11
So I found my dress and it’s beautiful and super sparkly. The bottom of the dress has a full sparkly tulle underlay that just shines so beautifully in the light. I love all the sparkles but just feel like it doesn’t really fit the theme I was going for.

Basically going like rustic/fairytale if that’s even a thing lol. I love mason jars and sunflowers and wooden signs and all things disney, but would my dress be out of place?

also, I love custom Toms or Converse and think they may also clash with the sparkles. Any thoughts or am I totally overthinking this? I’ve attached a model version of my dress, although mine will be ivory instead of the champagne shown.

Hi Melissa! I think that this dress would work perfectly with your rustic/fairytale theme! It is so beautiful and has the right amount of fairytale features! As for your shoes, be sure to wear something comfortable! Toms or converse wouldn't be seen under your dress, so if you'd like to wear a pair, go for it! Smiley smile

As long as your dress works for the formality of your wedding, you're good to go. A tea length cotton eyelet dress would look silly at a black tie event. With your fairytale vibe you are good to go. It's a very pretty dress.

Do you love it? If the answer is yes, then of course it works Smiley winking

But seriously, as long as it matches the formality of the wedding, you can make it work! You have a fairytale vibe, and I think sparkle fits right in!

I love it! My dress has the same underlay and I'm doing sparkle sneakers- it looks fine together! I think the dress is fine regardless of the theme.

I’m a firm believer of getting the dress you love the most without consideration of anything else (including the venue)! 😉

Frankly I think that it is the bouquet that will set the tone for your outfit. Using rustic flowers will rock the theme. The dress is a beautiful but neutral backdrop.
