Dress doesn’t lay flat on chest?

Tori, on January 20, 2019 at 10:53 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 5
Okay, so I LOVE my wedding dress. I picked it up from the boutique a couple weeks ago... but the top does not lay flat on my chest. The top sort of perks outward, and you can see my bra too. It is not too small. In fact, it’s too big, which is why I’m holding it up with my hand in the photo. When I tried on this dress in the store, this didn’t happen. Is this something a seamstress could fix? 😬

Absolutely! Your seamstress can probably even sew in cups so that you don't have to worry about the dress shifting and showing your bra at all.

Since your wedding is in August, I'd look for someone needs (if you don't already have someone in mind) and schedule a fitting for late May or early June.

It looks like it might need to be steamed to relax the fabric with it being a new dress the fabric will be stiffer

A seamstress can definitely fix that! If it’s taken in a little it should definitely lay flat. I’d make an appointment at lest 6-8 weeks before the wedding (even farther before if you can). I would also call and schedule an appointment soon since summer is very busy for weddings appointments book up fast.

A seamstress could definitely fix this, this is what I’m having fixed on my dress as well. I have big boobs but still it was too big at the breast area and wouldn’t relax. I dropped it off a couple of weeks ago for alterations

First of all, your dress is gorgeous! Now, to answer your question, a seamstress should be able to fix that, I'd suggest to give at least 8 weeks before the wedding for alterations to be completed on time. Given that your wedding is in August, you should have more than enough time to work on that.
