Dress dilemmas

We’ve been together 11 years so I’ve had quite a few years to think about what I’ve wanted my dream dress to be. I don’t think I’m going to find it anywhere, or at least not locally.
I’m looking for a full lace tea length vintage style dress with straps that are about an inch or so wide that come slightly off shoulder. I wanted intentional designs like a not straight hem and cutting along the lace instead; no zipper, but either true buttons or corset closure; also allow me to have an additional petticoat as I would like to have some layers of navy tulle under the dress.
I don’t know what to do. The option of making it is still on the table.

Is this the kind of style you're going for just a bit longer?

I had my dress and veil custom made. I found my dressmaker on Yelp and I really enjoyed the process from creating the design, picking out the fabric and accessories, to tweaking things at each fitting to get everything the way I wanted. It sounds like you know exactly what you want and you probably won't find it already made so I recommend contacting some local dressmakers to get quotes.

A little longer. I found a dress that’s just about what I want, but it’s in England. 😥 I don’t know what to do. We have time, our date is December 21, 2020, but still.

That means it’ll probably be myself and a friend or two that can help. I know I’m a decent freehand seamstress and my friend does pretty well with a good pattern.

Check out Chi Chi London, Unique Vintage and ModCloth. They all have vintage dresses with wedding dress sections.

That's beautiful. You have plenty of time to order it from England. Do they not ship to the U.S.?
