Dress Dilemma - thoughts about off-the-shoulder styles?

Veronica, on December 1, 2014 at 6:37 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 4

Hi everyone - after much searching I've narrowed down my dress decision to two options. I'm interested to hear if anyone else wore an off-the-shoulder style and how it worked in terms of comfort and whether your range of motion was really limited. I feel like in order for the straps to stay where they're supposed to on my shoulders they'd need to be a little snug, which also means they might feel constricting...

So my dress was way more restrictive than that because it had an attached wrap. It was totally fine for the ceremony but for photos and the reception, I actually just pulled my arms out of the wrap and my mom and BM's helped to temporarily sew it back so that it wasn't bulging. Here's the best photo I have of it right now.

Obviously removing your arms from the styles you've picked won't work. Are you planning to go try on those dresses? That way you'll know. If you're really concerned and can't try on the dresses, maybe go with a strapless style and add a lace bolero (or similar item).

My dress has off the shoulder caps....no I cannot move my arms in it but somehow it will be ok....

No, it will look proper for about an hour then my arms will probably come out of caps.

I went to a salon on a Tuesday and made sure the associate was aware I was not going to make a purchase and would only need about an hour of her time. I immediately asked to try on an off-the-shoulder dress that I had my eye on. I was not in the dress for long. I have broad shoulders and thought this would be a good choice for me. However, I was wrong. It was very constricting in the arms and shoulders. I now know that I definitely want a dress that is sleeveless or maybe has cap-sleeves the a scoop or illusion neckline.
